I work with GReddy Performance in the Sales department. Now I know we have not been a big name in the Genesis Coupe scene, but I'm hoping to change that with the Genesis Coupe. I am a fan of this car and I think it has great potential. I am pushing towards making an aftermarket performance parts line for the Genesis Coupe starting obviously with a cat back exhaust system and going on from there (downpipe, intake, intercooler, etc.). So long story short I am trying to do some research as to who would be interested in a GReddy performance line up for the Genesis Coupe. If you guys could give me some feedback as to what type of parts and what price range you are looking for, it would really help me gear this product line for the end user.
I know that we had a few exhausts made for the Genesis Coupe, but I'm trying to pin-point exactly what you as end users would like... single exit vs. dual exit... quad tip.. etc... Also please include the car that you currently drive.
Welcome
I like the idea of a intercooler/piping from GReddy with the BOV cold side flange. Right now I have a cold pipe kit with GReddy flange and a NGR BOV (I wanted a GReddy type S as I like the sound over the type RS but type S isn't made anymore and used they are expensive), but a full intercooler kit would be a great upgrade for me.
Also on the topic of BOVs, I don't think there is a stock location adaptor with a GReddy flange. If that was an option I would have got that over a whole cold pipe kit, I'm sure others would as well.
I believe we used to make the RZ BOV kit for your car and we discontinued that. We are actually currently working on a modification (fitting for the BOV) for our current bov (Type-FV) that will make sound like the Type-S. I'll keep everyone posted on this.
Intercooler is a for sure thing for the Genesis, but would you be interested in just the core with polished end tanks that will use stock piping?
If you could make an exhaust that would compete with the CNT V3, I think you would have winner. That is a complete cat-back dual exhaust (at least for the 3.8 V6, single into dual for the 2.0T) with quad tips that sounds good and costs about $500. There is high demand for it and it is always sold out everywhere.
I know it is simple, but if you could make quality "functional" hood vents for the 2013-2015, that would be good. The current ones have a 8-10 week lead time.
for me in would say intake manifold like the one you had on the genesis you did for sema and EMS we need one just saying those would be the 2 big ticket items
Well for the engines, the 2010-2012 2.0T and 2013-2014 2.0T have some minor changes. The 2.0T no longer exists in the 2015 model. The 2010-2012 3.8 and 2013-2015 3.8 have quite a bit of changes, as the engine went from MPI to GDI. Although some items will fit models from all years.
I'm in for the intake manifold. I love Greddy products. I had alot of it on my Sr20det. Intercooler with better piping would be nice. No one makes a intake manifold for our cars.and I know your Sr20det intake mani. Is great.
And a upgraded turbo would be nice. Greddy is a Japan based company and everyone knows the Greddy name.
I recently sent you guys a message about the 2.0t market!
I know your parts are great but I also know the exhaust, intercooler section is already crowded. That being said I still think they'd sell just fine.
But the genesis is getting cheaper in the used market and is starting to resemble the 240 being a cheap rwd tuner car. With that there are a lot of people starting to push the car with big turbo builds and there isn't an IM manifold option available. Your intake manifolds are really popular on the 240 and skyline communities and I think you could do really well here. Also the modded 240 one you did for SEMA just looked bada** which is the main thing right!?
I would def. be a buyer for one. Just my 2 cents
i have a 2013 3.8 track, with the 8 speed, honestly for us v6 guys an affordable bolt in turbo kit running 6-8lbs of boost would be awesome.. another good thing would be a full header back exhaust kit, bolt in of course, with the x-pipe maybe some hi flow cats just to be legal, it would need to be dual front to back 3 inch would be nice into something that would try not to quiet it down too much then out the back with maybe quad 4 inch tips, and try to keep it around the $2k, and maybe a dream that it wouldnt void the warranty
I would definitely like to see a front mount intercooler kit. Seeing the Greddy name popping out rom under my bumper would be nice. Also would like to see a short ram intake with a heat shield. Either with a conical filter or dome. Or you can be really different and offer both in the kit. As for an exhaust both a dual exhuast and a single exit would be nice. The dual exit obviously being tuned for a daily driver and the single exit for someone looking for max power and performance. That would be a good place for Greddy to start.
Dude... Greddy has a front mount Kit. Greddy has a intake with a dome filter. Greddy has a single exit exhaust.. And guess what? The have a quad tip to... Did you read any of this thread?
I have better things to do than reply to keyboard tough guys. But if you would have read the original post a lot of things for the genesis coupe are discontinued or available in limited quantities . Have a nice day
I can still purchase the intercooler online. But I will admit you are correct about some other things such as the exhaust. I do now see that on the site there is no "buy" button for this.
So I stand corrected, and when I am corrected I apologize. So my mistake.
All good. Not on here too much but def a forum veteran from other cars. So I search out and look around before I post. I think an option between a foam and cone filter would be cool. Would give the end user a chance to test both types out see which works better for them.
