Car:
2013 genesis r spec 2.0 mt with k&n typhoon intake, megan trans mount, faulty shifter knob replaced.

Shipping:
I ordered the extra ecm so i could swap back and forth if need be. It took right at a month to get here. The odd thing is that i got it directly from korea, so its hard to figure how BTR could have tuned it? Makes me wonder.

Install:
5 minutes, 6 bolts and one nut. U need a 3/8 impact gun, 10mm socket and a extension

Start up:
Check engine light was on immediately. Cleared the code and hasnt been back since. Probably because i didnt discomnect the battery.

Driving:
The part that makes me know its been tuned is that i can generate boost at engine cold temps now, so i know its been modified. People on here say its night and day...not really. It feels peppier in the mid range, the shift points are extended, which is fun. However, i still cant get the rear tires to budge from 1-2 shift. They will bark as they did before, but i was hoping for some sideways action. Maybe im asking for to much from a 19 inch sticky tire though.
The car does feel like it did when i first bought it now though. That oh damn....this thing is quick feeling. I have a feeling very soon, i will be back to wondering, what happened to all that power? The illness will persist. Possibly a ls1 swap will satisfy the urge?

I am now done with my engine performance till the warranty is up in 2023. The car is stout. I may do some suspension tinkering and maybe work on these "brembo brakes" that just can't take more then two laps without disappearing.

Your car is still being choked by the stock exhaust.

I was in the same boat as you. I didnt want the noise. I run catless with the Stage A/T. Isis O2/DP/TP. Stock midpipe back. I did have a muffler shop cut out and replace that piece in the midpipe that was crimped down. It is slightly louder than stock. Most noticeable at WOT. But even then, its much quieter than any catback I've heard. And there is no drone either while cruising. Plus, running catless, turbo spools up just as fast as i can push the pedal. And of course the tune removed the CEL code.

My only guess is there was some sort of miscommunication there. I cannot answer this with 100% accuracy, if they said you would still have a CEL. Im not sure why you would if you turn off the sensor. I had mine turn the sensor off and the CEL cleared as soon as I started it with the tune plugged in.

And as far as the upgrade is concerned, you would have to call. There is no option on their site to send your tune back for an upgrade.

Oh you guys. BTR can turn off the CEL, but the fault will still be present. If you run an OBDII scan, you'll find that you'll get a secondary O2 sensor fault. Turning off the light doesn't mean that the ECU stops checking for that secondary O2 sensor.

Yes, I know the issue will still be there. However, that stupid light will be off. Cant be driving around in a car that looks as nice as ours, and have your dash lit up making you look too broke to get your chit fixed!

I know what you mean about trying to get the back end to move in a straight line. I always read on here about people not having traction wot in 2nd or 3rd gear (with just some bolt ons and a tune) and have to wonder how small or worn their tires are... I can chirp 1-2, and once in awhile 2-3. I chalk it up to relatively new 275 tires in the back I guess lol.

Also, yeah... you get used to each power upgrade, and keep thinking, man I thought this was faster. Then you go back to stock ecu and parts and you feel like you have an engine from an elantra >.>

I am running 275/35R20s in the back, and Cooper Zeon RS3S Summer Ultra High Performance Tires and very often break my tires loose in 2nd and 3rd to the point where traction control kicks in to tell me to stop. Of course, I'm not stock by any stretch, but the power is in there... it just needs to be unchained.

After I got my tune had no problem turning the stock sh!tenzas into drag radials, especially on cooler days. :p
