My genesis just started making a rattling noise between 2700rpm and 3100rpm. It has 26XXX miles right now. It seems like is coming from the back, like the exhaust or something in the trunk. Any ideas?
Mine had/has a rattle at that same rpm range and its my flex pipe coming loose, fixing it this weekend hopefully. Check there first but since you mentioned near the trunk, also check all of your exhaust hangers and the cross bar under the mid pipe, i removed mine due to immediate clearance issues with my ISR exhaust. And if all of those are fine, probably simple heat shield rattling.
Update: Just used some $5 muffler wrap from auto zone and wrapped it around my loose flex pipe to suppress the rattling part, rattling noise completely gone. DEFINITELY TRY THIS before having a new flex pipe welded in, $5 vs $140.
