I bought a 2013 3.8 GC two weeks ago and I've got a problem with A/C. Previous owner said that it's probably only a small leakage and I shouldn't be worried. However, I took the car to A/C service and found out that it's more serious. There's a leakage indeed, no coolant at all, and the A/C compressor is dead too... The car has only 30k km (~18.5k miles) so I was a little bit shocked (I owned 2006 Hyundai Coupe for 5 years and I've never had such problems).
Anyway, I have to replace A/C compressor by myself, because the service guy couldn't find/fix it (I am from Poland and finding parts to this beauty is really difficult). I wanted to ask you guys if "Doowan DVE16" compressor model is the one I should get? I am not sure if the previous owner replaced it to a different one. I tried to find it, but Google doesn't help much.
I have only 3 images from the service ( sorry, I cannot post links/images yet): https:// drive.google. com/open?id=0B07pjh1_2dhbaTZyMWJuY21Sd0U
The quality of the images suck, but based on this I found a replacement on ebay: https:// goo. gl/97kGN4
I want to be sure, because probably I've got to buy this part from the US.
Any help would be appreciated.
Unfortunately, it's not valid anymore. Originally, the car was bought in France, but now it's in Poland. Service booklet is missing. I went to Hyundai in my town and they cannot do any repairs without it. I don't know if only dealers in Europe has such service policy.
That's why I got confused when the service guy sent me images of the compressor he took out of my car. The Doowon DVE16 seems to fit Genesis Coupe 2013 3.8.
BTW: The link you shared lists compressor for Genesis Sedan 2013 3.8, not Coupe.
The site says: " Halla HY2070 - A/C Compressor
This Part Doesn't Fit Your 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track."
The service booklet is necessary to ensure that all scheduled services were done. Without it, there's no way for the dealership to know if the car was taken care of properly. That is unfortunate because Hyundai Europe has a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty that is fully transferable to subsequent owners provided that the new owner can produce proof that the car was properly serviced.
The engine for the GC 3.8 was different in different countries in 2013... was the car you purchased an MPI (multi-point fuel injection) or GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) engine?

I would rather get a used OEM part with listed miles of donor car from ebay than get a re-manufactured one.
