I have been using Meguiar's Hi-Tech Yellow Carnuba Wax #26 and love it, but I hear it will make white cars look a little yellow. I'm not sure if this is true.

I recently changed up my whole deal and now I use all Meguiar's stuff, with Gold Class Carnauba Wax (based on #26), along with GC Quick Detailer and GC Quick Wax. To correct the paint, I use the Meguiar's clay kit then their three DA pads on a Porter Cable with Ultimate Compound (if needed per panel), then Ultimate Polish, then Gold Class as a final protectant for the polish. Some people stay with Ultimate line throughout the process, but I chose GC for a theoretically more golden depth on the pearl-metallic in the Becketts Black. One tip is to match your final quick detailer and quick wax used between washings and waxings to the actual wax used ;)

I see someone had Some Blacklight and Jetseal up there in a photo. I also use those products and a blitz sealant which comes out beautiful. I used to detail professionally and since then I cant use anything off an autozone shelf anymore because you are paying mostly for water. I personally use c zyme or 50/50 but they are on the more expensive side between 60 and 300 bucks a can depending on what you go with. Then theres the world of sealants glazes clay bar opti coat <== the sh!% and tire dressings and whatnot.

Has anyone used CG Buttery Wet Wax (Probably the same as Adams Butter Wax)? I used it after I polished last weekend and I washed my car today and it looked like there were little spots of streaking around the body of the car. I could wipe them away, but I'm thinking it was the wax?

Using glazes and other waxes provides depth and a better shine than opticoat and cquartz....so thats why for garage queens....most still will put on the standard for the better look. Cquartz and opticoat...or permanon or whatever u use that provides a year plus of protection just cant quite match the look....thats why when u want protection u have to sacrifice just a tad bit of look....just the way it is....maybe technology will bridge that gap more in the future.

I prefer a product like CG's Blacklight and a HIGH Quality Carnauba from my exstensive collection like Wolfgang Fuzion, CG Celeste D or DoDo Juice Supernatural.

LJ,

I have both of those you mentioned and they are great products. I just feel after using the other waxes I mentioned they are really far superior in depth and gloss. I got them all on sale when I bought them so I got them 40-50% off. The cool thing about Fuzion is you get a free refill too.

Has anybody else used some of Chemical Guys' products? I'm tired of the regular O'Reily and AutoZone stuff and I just realized that the Chemical Guys' showroom is about five minutes away from where I'm currently staying. I have nothing to do this weekend and finally going back home so I want to start taking care of my coupe and am thinking about picking up some product from these guys tomorrow or Thursday but I would love some feedback!

No, but there are many members on this forum who swear by their products and based on the pictures posted they seem to have a point. I ordered some Griot's Garage stuff which seems decent. I have thought about an order to try their products out based on what I have read here. Use search!

any wax that's best for a white car?

I just bought some of The Chemical Guys 50/50 wax for my white coupe so I will be trying it this weekend as I have heard a lot of great things about these guys. If you can afford to wait I'll upload pics when I'm done of the before and after. And I've read and talked to some detailers about white cars and they all say its a little more difficult to get a really good glass finish on white cars. Best car to do this with is a black one as seen earlier in this thread.

I have some great family and my cousins dropped my DSLR camera so I took the pics with my iPhone and you can't tell the difference because the car is white I guess. But it looks and feels amazing in person. I used all Chemical Guys products and I have a lot of wax left over. I first clayed for about an hour, waxed using the 50/50, sealed using the Jeat Seal, and than waxed again. The results made the car have an amazing shine but unfortunately my iPhone did not capture that. Sorry.

need polishing bad and of course waxing too

need to find a good product and do it by hand also
don't have machine. just good old muscle power and finding time to do it

just bought CG p40 polish and CG pete's 53
haven't tried it yet as need to locate a power outlet at my apartment's garage
also weather has been pretty since i bought it

as for car wash by the dealership, i simply ask them to soap and rinse. no actual hand wash, unless i'm there to witness what they are using to hand wash
