I always use a high quality sealant first no matter what wax I use, so this beads like crazy anyway. My car is not a dd and in a year I've only been caught in the rain once so beading to me vs. clarity and shine is secondary.
I just got my Genesis less than a week ago and I can't wait to give it a full detail top to bottom. I'm so thankful for all the extensive info available from this forum. It's overwhelming lol.
I wish I had easy access to some of the products available on the shelf in the US. Up in Canada it seems I am limited to what I can find at Canadian Tire if I want it right away. So for now, it will be Meguiar's. Going to try out some of the stuff from Chemical Guys since it seems they are a popular choice.
I've only ever polished and waxed so I'm going to see what claying is all about. Sounds like it's an essential part of the process. I expect I'll need to budget a good 6 hours for the whole process. We'll see how things go!
I just waxed my genesis for a second time after 5k miles using Chemical Guys 50/50 and I hardly used any and it came out amazing. I will definitely be using their products for a while.
CG 50/50 is great stuff and well worth the investment, you should get about 20-25 applications out of a can. Collonite 845 is a durable wax, as for shine compared to CG 50/50, Pinnacle Souveran, Do Do Juice etc. no where even close as to depth of shine and bling. If durability is most important, it's good stuff. As I have used all of those products and have compared them all that's my basis for my comments. Collonite would be my last choice for my GC as my ride is not a daily driver.
