I am sure it does not really matter to some people, but I was wondering what kind of MPG some people are getting and what type of Gasoline you guys like to put in you're GC.
I am getting between 25-26 and I get best performance and MPG when I get the 93 premium at Shell. My second option is BP and sometimes HESS, but I can see the difference in the MPG by .5 or so.
93 premium. not sure i believe the top tier hype as long as you avoid the super discounters. i use Valero.
if i drive like a granny on a long flat with maybe some tailwind... i can get up over 30.
the way i actually drive around home, 18. probly a little better after i do mods.
2013 2.0t A/T. I drive about half highway half city to and from work every day, don't drive too much on weekends. I'm not driving like a granny but not flooring it after ever red light either. Usually gas it to where it shifts at about 4k RPMs. I'm averaging about 22-23 mpg with 93 premium fuel.
I just got my 2014 3.8 Rspec couple days ago, I already drove it 200 miles:surprise: I think im getting between 20 to 25 MPG! And also I think it all depends on how you drive your car, if its a manual.
Yes is my DD. I like it so far only thing that I had to get used to was the steering. It was a lot stiffer than I though, but after a few days I don't even notice it. I was actually very impressed with the 2.0T. It drives nice and it does well in traffic and Highway. The clutch is not super soft but is not super hard. I was driving a 911 manual for a week and after a week I am sure my left leg was bigger than my right on how hard that clutch was. I def wouldn't recommend a 911 for daily or at least get the auto if its the daily.
I am planning to keep this bad boy for 4 years then getting a Cadillac ATS coupe or 328i with the M package.
Around 22-26 depending on how I drive usually before fill up its at 23.6, running on Chevron or Shell mainly Chevron though, and 91 cause CA dont have 93 -_-
i drive in baltimore city at the worst times all rush hour and i sit in traffic alot and im getting a whole 14.4 on the trip computer. 2.0t frownyfacing 2014
Any modifications to your car? Strictly city driving I get about 18-19 the way I drive, which is slightly more aggressive than your average driver but definitely not "racing" all the time. Wish I got your kind of milage!
No mods. I'm sure if I floored it everywhere I could get 14-17,18MPG. but i've gone 120-130MPH before and was still cruising at 25 MPG AVG....
Honestly, i really think it is the way I drive...when I try (hypermill) I try to achieve the best possible fuel economy. briskly accelerate to the speed I need...Usually the highest gear as that's where all of the fuel economy savings you get.... then coast the rest of the way.
the key is to use the MPG fuel economy gauge...It's aimed to my eye ball at all times....i'm always looking so it stays as high as possible.
I noticed on this car after 70 mph+ fuel economy drops drastically..more so then other cars I've had in the past...maybe it's wider and catches more wind...idk...
either way I try to get to the highest gear as possible without using too much of the cars fuel / energy.
I've talked to a buddy of mine and he has a tune, intake and exhaust. he asked me what i got mpg wise....when i told him...he was shocked as he said he gets 18 mpg in the city and it seems to be getting worse...
ive seen him drive and he hot rods it everywhere he goes....i don't think i have a factory freak...go figure.
Another tip for those who want to get better gas mileage...is coast...
on hyundai's when you let off the gas it shuts the injectors off and stops spraying fuel...as it's still turning and then when you hit the brake and return to idle they come back on...
however it does not do this in neutral..i used to coast in neutral thinking it would save more gas....it's all dependent upon the slope of a hill...however it doesn't shut off the fuel...
I'm convinced after comparing from back in the day.... we would get better MPG with non-ethanol gas and for sure better performance. I hate ethanol in my gas...they say it's better for the environment but hurts my car...need to find a place that has non-ethanol and try that out..
Marinas and small airports should have it, but you might only find 90 or 100+ octane. Plus they might not sell it for cars (or you might not be able to get a car to the pump if it's dockside).
Got a 2.0T A/T. No mods. I drive highway around 80MPH on 93 Exxon gas (since its right next to my house). I averaged 21-22MPG highway and 18-19MPG city. A few days ago, filled up on 93 Mapco (gas was $1.94!!!!!) and averaged 25MPG highway and 21 city.
That sounds a lot closer to what I'm getting. Idk how everyone else is saying 25/26, I would love to get that kind of milage! The one time I had it on the highway for about two hours, I averaged about 24. Maybe I just drive more aggressively than I think...
Getting 27 all city here in Guam on 87 with intake, bov and no tune. Granted the speed limit is 35 on the whole island. 2011 2.0t 6mt..I'm happy because gas just went below $3 a gallon!
2015 3.8 A/T intake and CNT exhaust. Mostly 60% city / 40% hwy and I average out 16-17mpg on a gas tank. Got 19-21mpg before mods. 2 fillups ago got 13.3mpgs. Nothing aggressive really. Horrible mpgs. Getting worse as car ages. 4000 miles.
'10 3.8 with a tune.. getting about 22 mpg on the trip computer with 50/50 highway/local. I use a combination of 87 or 91/93 gas depending on my mood when filling up lol.
