Starting this thread to hopefully set up a tuning event from SFR in Florida. We need 10+ people and deposits made for the event to happen. So if interested let's do it!

Details:

Price will vary depending on what tune you want

Stage 1 canned: $275
Stage 1.5 canned: $325
Launch control (Included in 1.5): $25
CAT Efficiency bypass: $25
Upgraded Sparkplugs (Recommended for 1.5): $55

Custom tune price is

NEW CUSTOMER
2010-12 $600
2013+ $650

RETURNING CUSTOMER
$400

BIGGER TURBO or any type of major modification

CONTACT SFR.

There is no discount for how much people we get together for the meet. This is only for SFR to come to us instead of having to ship our ecu or order a new one. That's the money saver.

As far as location I'm thinking Tampa. Wherever is fair for everybody attending.

I'm always in need of a re tune since I can't leave my car alone .. I'm deff interested . I was a big part of setting up the last 2 events and would have no problem helping to set this up as well .

I love this idea. I'm located in Tampa so this works out awesome. By just doing some quick google searches i haven't been able to find anyone local that does tuning for a '14 Genesis. And the places i found online that can do an "Email Order" want like $800 which is insane.

I'm new to this though so bare with me. I currently don't have any mods besides the R2C SRI I just ordered, would it be a good idea to get a tune from the stock setting with stock components (Besides the SRI after it's installed)?

Thanks for the post.

I'm no car expert but I've done some reading and to my understanding from what I've read pretty much the best mod you can do to your car will be a tune (by a good tuner). SFR offers "canned" tunes which is basically a set tune that people that are stock (like me) or have small bolt ons (like a intake) will work fine with. Then there is the option of a custom tune where they run your car on a dyno and tune it based off of the results. If you continue to upgrade your car I believe you will eventually have to retune it to get the most out of what your putting in.... Somebody correct me if I'm wrong

Definitely in if it's Tampa. I'd want a second ECU though.

I'm with you, after looking at SFR's website which has a lot of useful information on it, I would definitely want to buy an additional factory ECU and just swap them back and forth as to not even go near warranty issues as I have an extended bumper to bumper I do not want to mess up lol

Not to Hijack the thread, but the SFR website doesn't mention anything about canned tunes for the 2013+ 3.8 liter. Do you guys have tunes for this?

Sounds like this is going to be held in Tampa since majority interested already live close. In that case , Hahn's Racecraft would most likely let us rent their dyno as jay has already used them for numerous events. I have not contacted them yet but I'm sure when we have enough interest they will be more then happy to.

If this happens, would there be a possibility of other venues while they're down here? Something for east Fla coast? Orlando would be a lot easier to get to than Tampa.
