As the title says. I've traded in my genesis for V8 muscle. I thoroughly believe my genesis is quicker than my new car but the easy tuning availability for the genesis just wasn't there. :frown:
I traded my coupe for an '08 Corvette yesterday. This morning my first purchase was the DS Trinity handheld tuner and a K&N CAI. I was holding onto the genesis hoping one would come out for us but to no avail. I did have an SFR 1.5 ECU but I was looking to get a lot more power and that would require travelling to one of the tuner events around the country.
It's been fun guys.

There are loads of them. My nearest chevy dealership has more than a dozen listed under pre-owned. I'd swap off my Coupe if I could find an 07-08 for 20K with 50k~ miles. 400hp/400tq. Can't really go wrong with an LS.

My Corvette is an '08 LS3 430HP Red with A/T with paddles shifting. LOL I am used to my genesis paddle shifting and I keep downshifting instead of upshifting. It had 42.5K miles and $31K.
As i posted earlier I know my coupe was quicker but I can reach the same speed or faster down the road. Twin Turbo. LOL there was an '03Zo6 about 3 hours away that was really built, bottom end heads cam and had the twin turbo setup from STS. I was interested in that also but he wanted 27k for it.

I'm guessing your coupe was seriously modded if it was faster than a 3200lv, 400hp/400tq V8 car...

apparently its to do with overheating, and the most common cylinder is #6 ... this is from what I have been reading up on.
Its a nuisance, but thats what warranty is for. And by the time warranty is up, GM will have a fix for it, either by adding fuel to that cylinder in the tune, or a cooling reroute (ie 03/04 Cobra style), etc.

On my Cobra we added additional fuel in the rear most cylinders to help keep them cooler as they are the ones to typically run leaner.

Totally agree with you.. I always keep in mind also that this IS the first year for this model.. So of course there will be bugs..

Its just that this fault can cause engine failure.. And while GM might replace your motor entirely... It will never be a matching numbers car...
