Slight Hesitation From Running Rich??

This 2010 3.8 currently has about 43,000 miles on it. It has the stock tune, cbe and k@n drop in filter. If i take off and accelerate hard through the gears, there is no problem. If i an cruising on the highway at 65-75+ mph and keeping a constant speed.....once again all is good.
...However, a lot of the time if i gently come in to the throttle from say highway speed, i can feel a ever so slight hesitation, or if i am " babying it" while shifting up through the gears...once again, a very slight hesitation. Not always, but enough. I'm thinking its because the car is set so rich from the factory? Its not smoking and is getting great gas mileage. I am planning on getting a dyno tune soon which hopefully will eliminate this? Its not bad enough to consider it a plug or fuel filter problem. When it does happen...the engine is still running smoothly. I did a search but could not find a good answer.

I noticed this too way back in the day and the partial-throttle hesitation is a mix of conservative drive-by-wire throttle mapping + responsiveness issue on the stock tune. A canned tune will get rid of it and make the throttle much snappier, more responsive to input, and more consistent with regard to getting the power you're asking. Dyno tune will do the same.

Try this - cruise in 5th gear about 5k at med throttle then down shift to 4th and WOT. You'll feel a major difference as the car falls on its face, then after a second, it picks up and goes like normal. Do this with and without traction control on. When traction control is disabled it will not happen. It's a comfort thing when t/c is enabled.
