To start off, i love my red 3.8 GC.
It's the best car i've ever driven (Granted, i'm only 19 and have driven like 2 other cars )
However, the Gen is far from perfect. A few things about the car really piss me off:
- No rear windshield wipers. What's up with that?? the 350z has one doesn't it?? the car has freaking anti-condensation for the rear window but doesn't have wipers (It rains about 4 month a year here.)
- The horn sounds like ****. It's really high pitched. Sounds like a scooter is honking.
- No seat-belt holders to keep them at reach. I got used to twisting my arm that far back but every time i have a chick with me it's the same remark "Why is the seat-belt so far back?!?" :broken:
There are more but these are the main problems i have with the Coupe.
read windshield wiper would have made the back look like crap (this is my personal opinion) less clutter = better
the horn does sound like crap, my friend's tiny mini cooper has a louder horn, but you can always upgrade your horn and it is fairly easy to do (there's a DIY here somewhere)
there is a seat-belt holder on the left side of your seat, if you're using it already and still can't reach it.. sucks to be you?
oh and I'm not sure how these things can really "piss" you off, they annoy me a bit at best. Remember, you're driving a Hyundai (the company that gives you the most value for your buck)
If I were you, I would be thankful for being given a GC at the age of 19 (I'm assuming your parents bought you the car, if you're paying it yourself, kudos to you and don't take offense at my comment)
things that annoy me:
-wipers occasionally park part-way up the windshield for reasons unknown
-creaking sunroof (lube it with silicone spray and it lasts about a day before it starts again)
-completely random headlight condensation
things that are a motherf**king c**k sucking dirty wh*re b*tch of a fat-ass annoyance:
My seat makes a popping noise on the back every time I put pressure on it, and the ecu doesn't want to cooperate with my new turbo. Other than that I love the car.
- The stereo doesn't keep "Random" selected when you shut off the car. (Nav model)
- Impossible to get to an artist in the middle of the alphabet because there is no Search feature with your iPod. (Nav model)
- Seat belt rattle
- No way to roll up windows with the remote key
- Too many chicks want rides, I can't afford all the condoms.
Track and R spec is the racing suspension, they ride bumpy on crappy roads. Tourer is how it sounds for the smoother ride. No lumbar for passenger side and the seats could have more support(cushion).:gc-wmsmiley-this-to
There isn't really anything that bothers me, but maybe a little annoyances here and there. The one thing that definitely bothers the crap out of me is everytime I open the freakin door. It feels like I'm opening a car from the 1970's the door handle does not feel sturdy at all and gives a nice clunking sound. Anybody else know what I'm talking about/does it bother them?

I like my car so far, but there is definitely stuff that bothers me day to day:
-Coming from an Audi, the quality of the trim is not so great inside, but I understand that I paid much less for the car.
-The trunk cover behind rear seats right above the the speaker, rattles with music not being even loud."I dont know, maybe I should glue it down. Will take it apart when I have more time"
the door is just lacking the expensive sound deadening material, so it may sound "clunky" or hollow. I don't mind the sound...it makes me feel efficient and utilitarian. it makes me feel alive
im annoyed by the seat belt clip flapping against the column when i have the windows down too.
that and the creaking i get from my rear driver's side sometimes. i should go back to the dealership to have them take a look but i just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Ya I get that seat belt rattle too which is pretty annoying. Interior quality could be better but I'm not really complaining. Slight gaps near the fenders/front bumper. Overall though, completely satisfied with my purchase.
oh yeah I got rock chips up the ass on my front due to long distance commuting. At this point i'm just trying to enjoy the car...which I am doing quite well I wish I had another 100 whp however...
Can't turn off the dash lights when the engine is running.
Radio does not hold the presets when the battery is disconnected.
Seat bottom is too narrow.
6 sp manual transmission sucks
Agreed. I plan to track mine, so I asked permission to test the handling on the test drive (within reason).
I noticed without the ESC on there wasn't much communication of when it was going to break loose and when it came back, it snapped pretty hard. I can adjust this with suspension tuning, but it surprised me.
Tried an old hillclimb pass with the ESC on and I couldn't believe how badly it stepped in and backed off the power.
Has anyone developed a new ESC program for this via a flash or anything?
