Searched tha Exterior & Media section & notice there was never a carbon thread made. There have been numerous threads of question's about tha looks, quality, & brand of carbon parts so i figured i'd make a thread.
POST UP PIC'S OF YOUR CARBON PARTS!! hoods, trunks, grill's,fogs, lip's,wing's,etc.
vis oem hood. ark grill. ksl fog covers. sequence diffuser.
Considering this is one of the processes (and it makes sense why it's done this way), I'd rather go with the added protection of hood pins to help keep the hood down in case that latch ever fails from cracking or added wind pressure possibly forcing it up and into your windshield, especially since it's not like the stock metal hood where that latch is bolted and/or welded into the hood for a more, secure bond.
TL;DR - Short term, the latch and bolt should work fine or if it's a dedicated show car that gets towed around. Long term, get the hood pins since it's only a matter of time before it cracks or something makes it cracks.
Can anyone recommend a good Carbon fiber roof spoiler? I don't really dig the looks of the Megan CF one and the MorrisCLub is way over priced. Thoughts?
I know a guy that has some CF roof spoilers that won't break the bank.
I can't post his name though because hes not a vendor. PM me if your interested.
This seems to be a good place for my question. What is everyone's opinion on removing paint from carbon fiber? I got a good deal on a vis hood and it is painted grey. my car is green obviously. well I just want the carbon back. i have done reading online about removing it myself. sounds very time consuming and scary. (easy to mess up.) If I take it to a shop it is going to be awhile until I have the money to have it done professionally. But I am impatient and want to do it now!
