I know I have seen several new members that claim to be in the seattle area, so where are you guys? Anyone up for a meet? KPR is organizing it, we need more coupe's involved!

^Good to know.
Scot, when is your appt?

Satheian, thanks for the info and the offer to pick up from Sea-Tac. I need to research some more. I'm weighing out a bunch of options. Is public transportation pretty easy from renton, everett, redmond to seattle? Like, if I fly out there, would I be able to scope around the area taking public transport, because rental cars are wicked expensive for me (I'm under 25, so they jack up the rates). Good to know about boeing as well. I'm trying to get into smaller product design type work, but given a new area to live, that may be enough change and I might be happier with whatever lands my way.

From seattle there are busses to all the other major cities, and then each city has it's own bus system. the smaller cities and towns is where public transportation fails.

You'll be fine in all of the cities listed.

Hey satheian, I think i'm going to be booking a bed at the green tortoise hostel next to pike place. As far as I've read, I can take a light rail from Sea-Tac to about a block away from the place. I need to confirm everything before I book, but I'll probably be out there from the 18th to the 21st. So I probably won't need a ride, but I'm down to meet up!

Cool, I personally haven't heard of that particular bnb, but I'm sure you did some research, if all goes well I might have some surprises ready to be unveiled by the time you get here. ;)

Hey seattle people! I just bought my tickets, so I'll be out from the 18th to the 22nd. I'm staying at the green tortoise hostel which is across the street from pike place market in downtown seattle. I'm definitely up for meeting some of you guys if any of you are down. Obviously I'm at the mercy of public transportation and my two legs for meeting in a certain area, but let me know.

So far, I think I'm going to explore pike place market, the waterfront, take a ferry to bainbridge (maybe? hopefully weather is decent), there's a bike tour through seattle, but the weather might make that impossible... I'm sure I'll check out the space needle as well. Any other cheap ideas to check out? Is there any restaraunts that are a must eat at near pike place? (I love pretty much all food, from meat and potatoes to spicy mexican/asian).

Here's a few of my suggestions to get ya started.

Honey Court is my favorite authentic (ghetto Chinese) and is a little south.

Wild Ginger is a great Asian Infusion (more upscale) restaurant closer to Pike.

Red Mill Burger is a little North but somewhat famous.

If your in Seattle you need to go to a Dick's drive in (preferably not sober)

Aladdin Gyro in U-district is my favorite Gyro, (not Aladdin Grocery) Aladdin Gyro is a little north on university Ave. (if you see couches your in the wrong one)

Agua Verde on lake washington is my favorite authentic mexican restaraunt. nicer in summer but still good food.

Canlis is one of the nicest upscale restaraunts in the area, been there twice. Always amazing food and service.

I would advise you to not eat at the space needle.
Mediocre food for a PREMIUM price, just because of the view.

If you guys going to honey court, let me know. I would love to murder some honey walnut prawns. :D

Haha. Well hey, the only thing I have set in stone is an interview on thursday at 1. I'm so far planning to go to pikes market, the art museum/asian art museum, underground tour, waterfall park, bainbridge or bremerton ferry, but haven't set in stone when I'll do any of that, and I doubt that'll last me the entire time I'm there. I get in tuesday morning, and leave saturday early afternoon, so saturday is probably a no go.
I don't know how far out lake stevens is from downtown, but if you came up with a spot to meet up then I'll meet up with you guys. :D

We're about an hour out if we plan around traffic.

I wouldn't mind meeting up in redmond either. Alot of jobs seem to be out that way, so being able to see what that area is like would be cool. On thursday my interview is in bellevue which is halfway to redmond. Given an address/business, I could figure out what buses to take to get out there?

First round is on me! :fleshbox:

^Andrew is in Kent, which is about 30min south of downtown.
Krak, aka Scot, is about 1.5 hours south of seattle. FYI

sick! Are they 20? They look bigger than normal. And did you say you're buying my first drink, because I need one now... I got side swiped on the highway tonight. :( car is scratched up like crazy but everyone is ok.

To be honest, I was thinking of just throwing it away. Or was I...? Haha, either way it will just be sitting in my garage, I'm to lazy to post items up for sale. I may have other things for the 3.8 aswell. We shall see. :D I think $200 seems fair. We can also install it at my house if you want, or if not, i totally understand...:fleshbox:

My passenger front wheel is completely scratched up, and it ripped the cap off my TPMS haha. I'm actually happy my new wheels were not on when it happened.

Damn, that sucks Dan, I'll buy your second drink, when are we all getting together?
