I haven't yet. Is it the package from Finch Hyundai? I think they quoted me $1445 plus tax. I was able to pick up 4 slightly used Firestone Winterforce tires 225/55/17 on Kijiji for $250.
I am having them put onto some winter alloys at Hanford's for $125 each.
Yeah they are from Finch. I like the rims that comes with the tires but in the summer they're no good. That's a pretty good deal on your tires, are you going to get separate rims for them?
Thanks everyone for your input. I think I'm going to hit Costco's winter tire sale, I just need basic rims for winter so I'll get those from them as well I guess. Getting excited, got word from my dealer that my car is on the lot and they are installing my air intake on Saturday when it comes in!!! Thinking of putting a small dragon decal on it.
Good customer service is very important to me. I bought my GC at a dealer in Burlington but service it at a dealer in St Catharines. The service tech and advisors at the Burlingyon dealer just rubbed me the wrong way. I've been I. There a few times to ask questions and they are always pushing services on me which I hate. Performance Hyundai in St Catharines is great. They are not pushy at all and the techs all have been great. I've had 2 warranty claims that were performed without question.
Just Bought a genesis recently. 2.0t base. Need some advice. Should I keep the stock 18" wheels and tires on for the winter? Or should I just get some winter tires to fit over my stock 18" wheels? Or should I get a set of 17" winter tires and steel rims which I hear fits. I plan on buying some nice 19" rims and tires for the summer. Any advice?

It all really depends on how comfortable in the snow you are. I bought my car in sept. and I have a similar plan to you. I'm planning to use my stock rims as my winters and buy a nice set of summer rims. So to keep my plan in check I'm chancing it this winter on the stocks (so good so far..) and then I'll run them all summer till next fall. By then they should be pretty much bald so I'll throw winters on the stock rims then next summer buy summer rims/tires (summer '12)
I think I saw someone Friday night, 401 heading into Toronto. They followed me from around Cambridge to Dixie / 427 @ ~140 km/h, where I headed into the downtown and they carried on.
Black /w black tint, yellow fogs. I think it was fatflyguy. It was cold out and windows were frozen so couldn't give the wave, I think it was like 9:30 pm.
Dealership tire and rim combo is starting to sound like a good deal. Went to Costco and they said that it'll be $850 for just two back tires. Not having any luck getting ready for winter this year. I was informed that I can't get a remote starter for my GC.
For those of you that live in other cities, it might be worth the time to drive into the GTA to get your winter set. For a base or Premium non-Brembo Genesis, you can get 17" winter tires and steel wheels from Tires23 for under $1000.
I was told 17s won't work with the performance breaking on the track models. Something about the differential, couldn't remember what the guy at Kal Tire told me. I figured it was because the rotors and breaks were larger, 17s wouldn't fit.
there's some 17's that fit.. just a matter of finding a rim that does.. quite a few members on here have done that, but as far as I can remember they were all alloys and not steelies
That's the other thing the guy told me was I needed these special alloys. I wanted steels tho. I don't know why he was even telling me that when I don't even have the performance breaks on my GC.
Indeed he was, he quoted me like $1600. I ended up going to Royal Tire and was quoted $1300 for 17" steels, and I got them studded too. The $1600 quote didn't even include the studs.
Hey, I was on another thread and someone says that my GC doesn't exist. That person said that there is no such thing as a 2011 M/T GC. They only have A/T in the 2011 Model? He said it's must be a Canadian thing, can anyone tell me if this is true?
Just thought i would chime in that i will be acquiring my GC within the next week and I am extremely excited to have it sideways before i get my snows on it. and even after they are on it. so excited that it started to finally snow here this week.
I haven't scanned through the whole section yet but was wondering if there have been any meets set up around the GTA yet.
Or if they are on pause during the winter because i'm sure some people don't drive their whip all year around.
We usually have meets on Wednesday nights during the summer (all over the GTA) with special events once in a while. The meets have stopped for the winter as some people store their cars.
Thats great news then! I'm looking forward to them when they start back up.
If anyone is interested i might do some ice racing this winter... not in my car... but in a beater. i'll post when i'm going see if we can get a few people out... maybe call it a winter event
Wow they both look great!
I'm thinking about putting in a grille in the front like the one that you have. any recommendation on fit or brand? also... i think i am ordering flat black genesis wing emblems soon. if i get the grill i would only need one for the back so if you are interested in the other one we are both in Mississauga we could probably figure something out.
The grilles that will give you the look you're interested in are either M&S Carart Type D or Luxon. There are others but these two are the most popular.
We have body coloured emblems on both cars so for us there's no interest in wing emblems, but if you post the second one here or on ontariogenesisclub.ca I'm sure you'll find a taker.
hey guys
i will be moving to T.O around March this year
you will see my car wondering around ...lol
how much is insurance a year??
i wiil be most likely living in downtown
Toronto has the highest insurance rates in Ontario. It also depends on your age, gender, marital status and driving record. Do a search of some of the insuarce threads in the Ontario main forum and Im sure you might get an idea on how much someone in similar circumstances might pay.
Its a meh, very aggressive styling but definitely not for everyone. Youll either hate it or love it. I personally have no plans to change the body of the coupe besides maybe the grille and front foglight surrounds. I think the back is nice enough as it is.
Reason I ask is because my rear bumper got cracked during a fender bender on the 401 a while back. I am getting sequence sides and a prodigy front lip so I figured I would get a rear bumper too, but my AMS one got crushed into 3 pieces when shipping last week :wtc:, and there are no more AMS ones available. So I'm just looking for alternatives. My other option is getting an OEM bumper and a CF diffuser.
What luck eh? I order a replacement bumper for my cracked OEM bumper, and it gets destroyed lol.
