Hello guys, first time buying a genny 2.0t. Just wanted to know if im not paying too much
Found a red 2010 2.0t premium trim with 34000kms for $16000 here in ontario. everything stock car has been indoors and babied, been sitting in a private dealership. i really like this car, is that too much for the car?
Alright thanks yea thats what i was wondering, and its 2010 too.
There is another better loaded genny 2010 GT blue im looking into and its 45k driven for same $16k. Is the track one above GT?
Also if you saw the red black genny on auto trader, thats what i put down for, but it was on friday and the application hasnt gone through yet. its stock everything
Drove both Track and premium. Didnt notice that much of a difference on the city roads, might just be better at the track? Shiny Brembo brakes haha.
Im looking for a daily drive, my job pays for fuel so 91oct all the way. So I guess premium it is unless someone convinces me Track is better than premium on city roads
The only reason id look into track would be if the turbo was upgraded, other than that Id get LSD for the winters here anyway, hopefully il find good high profile tires to not be a snow plow.
Must say shifting is quite stiff on gennys, what can be done to make it smooth. (shifting from my 08 civic si with 260,000kms is still silky smooth and its a trade in for this genny) :/
if you have no plans to push the car, premium is just fine. GT/Track just has stiffer damper settings making it a tiny bit harsher. (Edit: The GT in Canada = Track in USA... not to be confused with the GRAND TOURING which is NOT a TRACK model. Canada GT/Track USA = Brembos + Diff. R-Spec anywhere = Brembos + Diff without fancy interior options).
Shifting can be improved with better gearbox fluid. RedLine MT-85 is what I use and it improves shifting a lot. You will *NOT* get this shifter to act like a good Honda unit - you have to be OK with that. It will always be a bit notchier and a little stiffer.
Here in Ottawa there is a 2013 sitting on a dealers lot with a clean carproof report with 32k for 18,000$. 2013 might be a better choice over a 2010 for an extra 2,000$...
As to shifting all the action for clutch is at the top , maybe 1/2 in play before engage . I hardly give it a bump to change Gears makes for quick shifts c
