Here's another new one for you guys, just released from Mishimoto is their intercooler and piping kits for the 2.0T coupe available in both silver and black!
OEM intercooler setups are not designed to handle the higher levels of boost that come with modifying your turbocharged vehicle. The Mishimoto Intercooler and Piping Kit is designed as an ideal upgrade for the 2.0L Turbo 2010-2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe intercooler.
By reducing intake temperatures and overall cooling efficiency, those who upgrade to the Mishimoto Genesis Coupe Intercooler and Piping Kit will see a safe increase in horsepower. Unlike most other aftermarket intercooler kits available, modifications to the front bumper and removal of the crash bar are not necessary since our kit retains OEM fitment.
Included in this comprehensive kit is a polished aluminum or black bar and plate style Z-Line intercooler, a complete set of aluminum charge piping, along with all t-bolt clamps and silicone couplers needed for direct bolt-on installation. The Mishimoto Hyundai Genesis Coupe intercooler and piping kit will fit with both the OEM radiator, as well as the Mishimoto Hyundai Genesis Aluminum Radiator.
Yeah you have me sold if it's 500 plus hp but according to the web site the Z core intercooler (used with this kit) only supports up to 22 psi so that is definitely not 500 hp worthy maybe 350 on that small core.... I'm thinking about the AEM option for those numbers..
shoot..
I got REALLY really excited about this. i have been debating on what IC to go with. and this really had me about to call and give my card #. shitty:sad:
I think it's definitely more efficient than the OEM unit and is a great upgrade, but as more people buy I'm sure they will have more testing on this unit for some official numbers. I could throw out some estimates that I'd guess, but I'm sure we'll find out more in the near future
Anyway you guys could give a discount or talk to Mishimoto to give someone a discount so they can test it and give results? lol...I noticed this is actually the same size /tiny bit bigger then the CX racing intercooler that's rated at 400HP...
Hey, whoever ordered this and has it installed -- PLEASE WRITE A REVIEW ON GENCOUPE, either in this thread, or in 2.0T Engine section and drop the link in this thread....
Wanted to keep everyone updated, slight delay but should be released within the next few weeks. We will have more results, etc. once it is fitted! Thanks for your patience!
The testing occurred on Thursday, 4/14. After installing the intercooler kit onto the test vehicle, we saw a 10 hp/31tq gain. We should be able to provide dyno graphs once the Marketing has everything ready to go!
.....31TQ gain from an IC barely bigger then stock.....WAT?
I'm waiting for the dyno graphs, otherwise I'm skeptical.
seems like bs but definately better than the stock ic ...
would make a great match with a turbo upgrade (like my gt30) if you don't push too far out of the turbo's efficiency range
