Sub'd for results. This is what I plan on getting, but I'll be going with an aftermarket manifold. Question though, is there any reason you had the shop mill down the turbo inlet flange to be flat on the stock manifold?

They put it on the mill to open the hole more. In doing so, it removes that raised little ring that use to be the flange opening. I suppose the reason was to just to open up the exhaust manifold more.

Ecu

Hello all I have been following this thread as I have ordered the same kit. Question for Dirtyloud. I just recieved my ECU from Korea. It looks like its sealed OEM from Hyundai. Am I too assume this thing is tuned for the 7960? There is no paper saying anything in that regard? Also other question. Are people melting things with the new turbo's and manifold DD or or they racing?Am I going to melt stuff hauling on it for a gear or two? Thanks for you input.

The plastic that the ECU came in had a slit in it correct? I too was thinking the same thing as you but seeing as though it was cut open and the ECU was removed, I'm assuming it has the tune loaded on it ; now with the correct options, that I DONT know yet, won't know till it's time to rock and roll.

What is this melting you speak of?

Duh, pulled the bag fully apart and I see that it has been cut open. Thanks for the quick response. The melting I am talking about is melting of the fusebox, O2 sensor cables and hoses above the downpipe and the plastic valve cover. I saw that people were either putting shields on to protect these parts or DEI heat reflective tape. I can't put my OEM manifold shield back on cause I went with the synapse manifold. I just wasn't sure if meltage was happening only with aggressive driving or if the stuff was melting period.

Oh, can't say I know the answer. I've never even seen this problem lol. I'm guessing it's due to the manifold tho. A nice hear wrap on the mani would help out.

Sick turbo. Makes me want one to. I don't know a great deal about it but I think those washers are not a good idea because of the heat. Those washers could even melt. Also certain metals will expand at different rates which could cause them to loosen up.

It's possible, but I think it will be fine. Only one way to find out right? Haha

Very nice looking set up. But that's not how you safety wire bolts together. Either example hehe.

Just found a nice tutorial on how to do it! Thanks for lettimg me know. Looks like I have to drill another hole in each bolt to properly do it.

Yeah I was going to but was curious to see if I got flammed lol.

Basically, you want to create a figure 8 between each bolt wired together. So knowing lefty loosey, righty tighty. The idea is to use one length of wire, loop it through the first bolt and then loop it through again. Then pull it tightly towards the other bolt head and double wrap it the opposite way through bolt head number two. Then meet each end in the middle, cut most of the excess wire and then tightly coil each end together. This way if either bolt tries to walk out it can't move since the figure 8 prevents any way for the bolts to back out. They are always working against each other to keep them seated.

There is actually a specific wire tying tool and aircraft grade wire available in contained spooled lengths. Google 'wire tying pliers'

What you have will work but there is a precedure for it. We tie bolts together quite often for many different applications at work.

Yep. So for two bolts you can imagine the figure 8

I'll have to drill new holes in the head of the bolts tonight if i get a chance. I'll probably try the method in the video and report back lol. May also install the wideband.
