Default Car Stops Accelerating

So lately ive been having somewhat of a serious problem.
Doesnt happen when im driving around town areas, but when im driving my car on highways whether it be at a steady speed or trying to accelerate
my car just stops accelerating and slows down, eventually coming to a stop

And once this happens my car will not move accelerate no matter how
much gas i give it. If i park it and try to rev it doesnt go over 1,000rpms and the
only way ive found to make it work again is turning the car on and off

Can anyone help?

More info would help in a diagnosis. What engine and transmission? Mileage? Modifications? Check engine light (if so, what codes)?

More info would help. I will say this though my guess is a timing sensor, it just recently happened to another car of mine. Similar to what you described.

Take it back to the dealership.
There is NOTHING you can do to fix it.

As Snoopy0812 said take it to your dealer to get it checked out.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't Hyundai's have a "drive-by-wire" or something system?

Regardless - you have roadside assistance and a warranty - use and abuse my friend

I had a Mazda that did something simular to that.

Called up a Mazda mechanic and he told me to buy a new muffler. Seems the muffler baffel tack weld could break and the baffel would work its way back until it covered the exhaust outlet. So when I stoped it would move forward and I was good to go again.

So I had the muffler replaced and never had the problem again.

hmmm.. just reread your op and it seems you have a slightly different problem.... soooo.. nevermind

probably the check engine light? not oil light. and I believe you're going into limp mode probably because of your blow off valve. I know I had problems at first with my BOV (car wouldn't build boost, BOV stayed open sometimes, after driving a while it would go into limp mode) but my car is reflash by PA now and all the problems went away with the BOV so not sure what to tell you...

well because im not there to diagnose the vehicle i really cant tell you what it might actually be the problem, so take it to the dealer.
but i will tell you this i had the same symptoms of the car cutting off during hard accel and partial accel then try to give it more gas but the rpms wouldnt go up and the only way to get the car going was to shut it off then start again

heres the link http://www.gencoupe.com/2-0t/66540-guess-problem.html

after i diagnosed it it turned out to be the crank sensor

Why would you not take it to the dealership while it's under warranty? If you start tinkering with stuff trying to fix it yourself you will waste time, money and give the dealership more reason to blame the problem on you.
