^Yes. It is all 3". I have their DP and their Hi-Flow Secondary CAT sitting in a box (brand new) in my storage shed waiting to go on. It is 3". Btw, I don't know if this will be helpful to anyone but ID = Inlet Diameter not inner diameter and OD = Outlet Diameter not outside/outer/overall diameter.

^ On raw piping yes, you are completely correct. On fully assembled exhausts however, you don't tend to see that. The reason for this is people don't need those kind of specs when they aren't building something. For example, look up the magnaflow 12267 muffler, it says 3" ID, 2x2.5" OD.
Also, I wasn't trying to make a generalized rule about all piping as a whole. On CNT's website, if you see ID it equals Inlet Diameter and OD = Outlet Diameter (on the inside). Last edited by OMEGA; 02-01-2012 at 12:36 PM. |

I do see where it says inlet and outlet size, but this is for a muffler and not a cat-back. If you look up the Genesis cat-back: MagnaFlow Exhaust Products - For Trucks, Suv's, American Muscle, Diesel, & Sport Compact Vehicles It does have listings for a tubing OD and tip OD, assumingly standing for outer diameter. |

^Sorry, I must have been mistaken then. I was looking at a listing for that muffler on ebay and that is what I saw. A lot of the times though, exhaust companies do not list the OD in referring to Outer Diameter but Outlet Diameter. The piping for my 4" Exhaust on my 3000GT was listed as 4" OD meaning Outlet Diameter. The true "OD" of the piping was like 4.2". Then the OD for the tip was listed as 5" hahaha.

I just bought one this week and installed it. For the price its a great exhaust, it looks nice, no rasp at all, not too loud or too quiet (nice deep tone), and welds look decent.
The only con is that they don't provide any hardware or gaskets and my exhaust was a bit neglected when I got it(a few dings on the muffler that are barely noticeable and hanger a bit bent) probably Fedex fault, but CNT could have packaged it better. Other thing is you'll need to space or take off the small brace held by the 2 10mm bolts to clear the piping and I'm starting to notice that it's rattling against the heat shield. For $400 shipped it was a deal and thanks to Genracer.com i got it in less than 48 hours. |
