This is awesome news!!! I so badly want this car to succeed.

Now we just need to start hearing stuff like this for the 3.8 and I will be ecstatic!!!

Agreed with the BR guys.. There will be a plethora of parts to choose from. And I have a feeling some initial parts offerings for the 3.8 will be coming out soon.

Man, I'm getting stoked about the R-Spec and this engine. I always thought I wanted the 3.8 but I don't want all that heavy track-unfriendly crap the Track model comes with. I dunno.... decisions...

Actually, I noticed something.. how do you think the 2 bolt mains will hold? Maybe just some ARP studs? I think the EvoX has 4 bolt mains right?

Yes the EVO X does have 4 bolt mains. I don't think the 2 bolt mains will be much of a concern for the Bolt on people, but when you start making some serious HP I think they will have to be addressed. We are currently studying different options that we may have to address this. I am going to push the 2 bolt main block though first.

wrong...both Ralliart and Evo X share the semi-closed mitsu 4B11T.

"The Ralliart is powered by Mitsu's new 4B11. This is the same 2.0-liter DOHC MIVEC intercooled and turbocharged engine found in the new Evo X. However, it has been detuned to a still-respectable 237bhp and 253lb-ft of torque. The Ralliart's 4B11 retains the semi-closed deck four-bolt main block and the reinforced reciprocating Evo X assembly that includes pistons by Mahle and strengthened connecting rods."

I don't think that the block guard will help this engine much if at all. The block guard in the honda are used for a few different reasons, but because this engine was designed with boost in mind, they have already built in strengths in the block that a honda does not have. The sleeves are actually a lot thicker than what i had initially thought or looked like. Can't wait.

Any chance a EVO X block would bolt up to this head?

well, at least that isn't a question that has already been asked before, typically people ask if the evoX heads would bolt up to the Theta II block..

It's simple, for those wanting well over 400whp, switch to the 6cyl or be ready to spend alot of dough on the 4.

over 400whp? seriously? Do you have any idea how much power that really is?

Maybe its just maturity after doing this for a while, but there is a point at which a car can have too much power, the chasis is overloaded, and the other components, cooling, tranny, diff etc.. are a hicup away from being destroyed.

You do realize that at some point, more power doesn't make you faster don't you?
