As well as the fact that the ECU compensates for temperature. I would have elaborated more on the subject but when I post after 4pm, its on my I-phone and its a real pain to type stuff out let alone edit stuff. on another note, I would think that having a cone filter(without a heat shield) instead of the stock filter or other drop-in would even help warm up the engine and turbo, faster in colder temps due to the warm engine air. then again maybe not, its been around -2 to 3 degrees Celsius after work here and it takes about 4 kms to fully warm up. I do notice one thing tho, the colder it gets outside the more my car wants to get up and go.
yea, i definitley noticed that.
after my car warms up and its cool out...i mash the pedal it pulls pretty hard.

Kegcyyc I am salesman at a dealership and the dealership you go to is being a D***K because here in QC Canada we sell spring kit put aftermarket exaust spoilers and air intake, If we want to modify a customers car and Hyundai offers the products we must use their product.Example eibach spring, eibach sway bars,I will have to check with the part department to tell you wich intake they tell us to sell but we put them on the car and it does not void warranty or anything, as for your header i dont know but usually we find warm or burnt or black corosion when the car is running to rich I can check for you

i dont know much about how engines work so i didnt know what to think, but i havent put it back on since.....

is it really going to cause problems or are they just saying that because they are a dealership?
headers? its a turbo manifold so tell them that and no there wrong, more air in a force induction motor is always better, however yes too much could be bad, a tune is best as well when doing anymods that way the maps are retuned to take it propertly the more air your feeding her, i dont ask my tech guys i work with because they know nothing well some they use all data for everything lol i'll stick with my tech who's worked for hyundai since 87

first off, is he right? i know some of you guys just have the filter..so how did yours work?

and also im debating just getting an intake..he said hede make me a custom one for 200 with an aem filter...will it sound even better?

Yeah I'd tell him to shove it. Go to a plumbing supply store and buy a 2 3/4" OD PVC connector, along with an AutoZone cone filter. Bolt the connector in place of the stock airbox, slap the cone filter on that, then GO!

It took me a while to find the pipe to fit the factory hose, but they're out there. Just a cone filter makes a WORLD of difference.

I plan on recording a video soon that shows all the different sounds between stock, silencer delete, and intake.
