Default Heat from Engine/Transmission reaching cabin

Hey guys I've been noticing a good amount of heat coming from the floor/firewall of my cabin which floats up and reaches up to my knees. This is with a 3.8 R Spec and it occurs when my car has warmed up. Notice it when I come to a complete stop and begin moving forward. Car currently only has an r2c Intake but I've noticed this happening when it had the stock airbox as well.

I'm wondering if this is a common occurrence with other members and if there is a fix for it. I'm sorry if there's a thread for this already, I've searched for a half hour and would greatly appreciate it if you guys could point me in the right direction.

Came to a conclusion/answer.

As long as it doesn't get too hot to touch or you start smelling melting plastic you're fine.

As previously stated, this is actually normal for most RWD vehicles, especially in our price bracket.

If you're overly concerned however, you might want to consider buying a pint of eDead and spraying under your carpet, along your footwells and transmission tunnel.

This is common on most RWD vehicles actually. I know it may sound dumb but are your heater vents set to the foot well? There's vents down there that direct heat to your feet. If that is on, then that may be your issue.

For it to actually radiate through would require alot of heat coming from the transmission. Auto or Manual?

When you say "heater vents set to the foot well" do you mean is it on the option to direct air to my feet? If so, then no. The air is not on that setting. Also, I have a manual transmission. Thank you very much for the reply btw.

Yes. The vents that are down there are blocked off by a set of actuated doors when not in use. So that rules that out, unless the doors are stuck open and heat is creeping in from somewhere.

I know my manual runs a little warm on longer distance drives. If I put my hand on the carpet near the foot well, its warm but not too hot. It' doesn't radiate into the cabin like yours.

Is this happening with the A/C on?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they were stuck open. The car is a little short of 5,000 miles off the lot but has been having excessive and unresolved clutch chatter and transmission problems since 300 miles :P.

And no the a/c isn't on when this happens. Mine is running warm even after a short distance, like today it happened after a 2 mile drive to fill up my tank.

Not too sure necco but I'm glad I'm not alone, I would definitely like to find an answer for this problem. Anyone else have any input?

I notice it every once in a while. But it's happened when I was beating on it, driving a long distance, and a calm short distance drive.

I notice it when I beat on the car when it's warm out. I've even checked my vents because it felt like the heater was on a few times in the past couple of weeks.

It's perfectly normal for it to get warm where the bell housing area is as your exhaust and engine heat are directly below the foot pan. Thanks a lot for the peace of mind Snoopy, I took the time to pull over to the side of the road today when I started feeling the footwell of my cabin to heat up. Floor wasn't too warm at all. Not worried about my physical comfort at all, just want my car to be in top shape. :]
