search on the forum...there is the reason why. Long story short...there is a "patch" for this...at least moter trend or an other car magazine tested first without (not knowing anything of the problem) then Hyundai fix the problem and they got better results.

I don't know yet if it will come out as a TSB or not.

It's a known issue, and Hyundai does have a reflash for it, but for some reason it hasn't hit dealers yet. Hopefully it won't be long. I'm waiting until I hit 1k miles before I call up the dealer to ask for. It's kind of another incentive for me to lay off the throttle a little while it gets broken in.

Well, the car just came out here in the US and its been 4 months since it came out in Korea. So I'd say your gonna have to wait a little before aftermarket solutions start to be available.

hmm...I never knew the GC was available in Saudi Arabia. I live right next to Saudi Arabia(Bahrain) and I was told by the dealership that Bahrain is the only country in the GCC to have a GCI guess the salesman is a goddamn liar. The price is about the same though($25,675 for the 2.0 non-track model, $28,378 for the track model to be specific). BUT if the track model is for $26,000 in Saudi, Im gonna bounce there and get me one

there is no such thing as track model here .. its not a GT..and not a track
it has LSD but no brembo brakes
infinity sound system but no bluetooth
the car even came without H.I.D ..but they promised to install it when i do my first maintanance. and btw..if you want the 2.0 , they will never get them here in saudiarabia .. like they never got the 1.6 , 2.0 hyundai coupe (tiburon)

yup, we dont have bluetooth either. but damn...no 2.0 in Saudi? But a V6 for $26000(must be around 9,620 Riyals)is a FANTASTIC offer. for this price, I can get a 2.0 here in Bahrain. V6 is for 11,800 Riyals here. by the way, where did you get your car from? I mean do you live in the Eastern Region?

You just got it and already going over 4k rpm? I hope you took it on a long road trip to get it over 800 miles before doing that. After I get my oil changed tomorrow, I will redline it to see if the same thing happens.

while i was on the phone with techline for another car...they are not aware of anything that is going to be done with it at the moment.

i'm sure they will though...especially if enough people bitch about it.

I'm not aware of any consumer that has brought their car back to their dealership and got the "fix".

No TSB = No Fix.

I guess only reviewers and car-magazines get the fix for now.

Default hmm

ok i have done some tests today
shifting at 5800 rpm
1st to 2nd lagged for less then a second...
2nd to 3rd...totaly lost power..it just remained at the same speed with my foot on the pedal for like 6 seconds..untill i started releasing the gas pedal then it started to accelerate once again
3rd to 4th lagged for less then a second

then i thought about testin some thing else.. driving at 3rd gear.. 5000 rpm ..pressed the clutch and gas and released the clutch..guess what..it lagged for a second...keep in mind that i did NOT shift...

shifting slow at 6500 rpm gave me no problems at all

conclusion : if u lift ur foot very fast of the clutch while ur rpm is higher then what it would be after releasing the clutch..it will lag..

Hey spunky602,

I just got off the phone with the dealer here in Bahrain and they told me that they have heard about this problem nd that they have received an email from Hyundai discussing this problem and that a re-flash is on the way. Just give it some time, and they will have it soon.

The dealer here has really pulled his finger out and re-organised the way operates, the new showroom and garage is going to be open soon. If you need any info you can email me or call me on (+973) 36186699.
