That's awesome! Question: if this was on a daily driver, what happens if you happen to hit a puddle?

I personally talked to the guys at the bc booth and was told there are tuning issues with the kit. Looks very promising though.

Sick! One wonders about the usefulness of a remote mount though. I was under the impression there was enough room under the hood?

In any case, still an amazing project and I'm glad to see options popping up

Ain't rear Turbo kit just a show-off thing? The hot expended gas of the engine will have cool down and lost velocity by the time they hit the turbines... talk about turbo lag.

Really, really looks cool though.

Supposedly it is not that bad. I believe we had a discussion about it on this forum and how it is barely different than a regular turbo setup. However there is a **** load more piping to take into consideration and looking under the car, I'm not sure where it would go if you're running a true dual.

How's the responsiveness with all of that intake piping?

rear mounts add about 2-300 rpm of lag, thats about it.

we did a rear mount in my buddies v8 s10.. basically turned the bed of the truck into a turbo area (that thing ripped!)

There are alot of rear mounted turbo kits that are very successful, Im sure with some more time to get the tune done, this will be a very good, viable option for the V6 guys.

i honestly considered remote turbo setup. a smaller exhaust AR housing would assist w/ any spool up concerns but all the reading i did showed the powerband similar to NA, just higher. common w/ turbo'd vehicles, you may see a huge torque spike in low RPMs but that looked like the only difference. something comparable to an AGP Delta44 would have been my choice.

Hi everyone from SEMA. My name is Bryan - owner of MSA who did the build. I'm glad there's some excitement about the kit. Here's a few reasons on what/why we did it the way we did.

1. Installability. We wanted to make a power producing kit that a semi-mechanically inclined person will be able to install in their home garage. Then spend the install $ on the fine tuning to help keep your build budget low. I'd say 90% of you will have a difficult time installing Hennessey's kit. After talking with the representative, they are in the same boat we are - they don't have injectors or a tune what-so-ever. Their 500hp is purely a projection. That said, they were able to put the turbo into the engine bay by doing several things:
- relocated the power steering reservoir to the core support
- relocated the battery (I couldn't see where).
- relocated the fuse box to where the battery was located.
- relocated (or eliminated) the windshield washer reservoir (I didn't see where either.)
This then allowed for room. Here are the pics of their install: Hennessey pictures by msauthority - Photobucket

We had three weeks to do the complete build. The only thing that had been done prior was the plumbing and the intercooler by our sister company. We just didn't have the time to do it. We have an AEM FIC and Deatschwerk's 650cc injectors at the shop, so we hope to finalize the build when we return.

Projections on the release date is shaky right now, sorry. We have to file for our carb legalities afterwards, so that will take some time. Cross your fingers for February.

Good news, once it's done, we'll move onto a twin turbo kit and then a twin kit for the V8 Sedan. Hyundai's backing us on the project as well as our complete list of sponsors. Here's the pics of ours: Genesis in booth pictures by msauthority - Photobucket

Feel free to ask any questions. I'll answer them the best I can.

Looking forward to the kit release! I went and looked at ststurbo.com to see if they had a kit, but they don't. They said they'd be able to help me piece together a universal kit, but I'd have to get my own tuning solution. I'd be interested in buying a full bolt on kit from u guys when it's available!
