Default Injen CAI issue

Has anybody else had an issue with the windshield washer fluid filler neck disconnecting from the reservoir? I have repeatedly put it back on. I even pushed the plastic filler neck into the silicone coupler past the lip on the end of it but it still pops off. I think I might need a longer coupler as there might not be enough coupler getting hold of the neck and connecting to the reservoir. As anybody else had this issue?

same thing happened to me. i just gave up and took that long tube that you pore the water into out of my car. so i just have the red box plastic thing in the bottom with water.
i never use it any ways and it makes the engine bay look a tad cleaner

I haven't had this issue with mine yet but when I was putting it together I figured something like this would happen.

I have a spare silicone coupler that I had for an upper intercooler pipe that I'm going to use to see if that will fix the problem.

This has happened to me as well. I haven't checked again to see if it has come lose.

Just did a quick check. And yup, the neck has come out of the coupler. Definitely a design flaw by Injen. Makes me wish I went with AEM because their washer bottle is up at the top. Where do you think they sell longer silicone hoses?

I had one from ETS in Washington State. You can try them. It shouldn't be too expensive.

I bought another clamp instead of the small one they supply with the kit and I have drove about 500 miles with no problem.

Is this also going to be an issue for the 2.0 version?

I honestly don't think the clamp is the issue. I just e-mailed Injen and gave them a link to this posting describing the problem we were having so hopefully I get a response within the near future.

Maybe they will supply us with an adequate coupler.

Has anyone tried zipties over the coupler?

I don't think that zip ties will work either. The problem isn't being able to not tighten them down enough. I am able to tighten the worm clamps until the plastic filler tube is starting to bend in, which you don't want. I believe the problem is that the coupler isn't long enough to allow flexing which happens when the car is in motion. Because it is too short the filler neck pulls out of the coupler. If the filler neck was made of something harder then yes, I believe that zip ties, t-clamps or torquing down the worm clamps will work. I will keep everybody informed if and when Injen replies to my e-mail.

Just imagine the filler neck isn't connected to the reservoir bottle. I would take pictures but that would mean taking off the bumper, which I really don't want to do.

Yeah def don't. This sukks I was pumped about installing the intake but I guess I will just hold off for now.

Edit: So what happens when your driving and it comes off? lol Does washer fluid pour out and where does the reservoir fall to?

The reservoir is connected by bolts so it doesn't fall off and due to the shape of the top of the reservoir not much fluid comes out. Let's just say that I still get fluid out when I hit the fluid switch. I would still install it if I were you just to get the performance gains.
