ARK Performance Bringing Modified Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec to SEMA 2012

A Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec modified by ARK performance will be displayed at the automaker’s SEMA show stand this year. ARK performance updated the Genesis Coupe’s performance and added visual enhancements, as well.

ARK Performance 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe R Spec SEMA show car sketch left rear 11 300x142 imageWhile Hyundai already improved the Genesis Coupe’s 3.8-liter V-6 for 2013 by adding direct-injection, the SEMA show car gets bumped another 47 hp and 45 lb-ft of torque (now at 395 hp and 340 lb-ft) with a Brian Crower 4.2-liter stroker kit enhanced by an intake, oil cooler, lightweight pullies, and ceramic-coated headers from ARK performance. To handle the addition power, the drivetrain has been upgraded with an ARK carbon plate clutch kit with a limited-slip differential from Cusco. Nitto NT05 tires wrapped around Yokohama ADVAN RS2 alloy wheels put the power to the ground. A six-piston Big Brake kit front and rear brings the customized Genesis Coupe R-Spec to a stop.



No SEMA show car would be complete without wild interior and exterior modifications. Outside, the Genesis Coupe now sports a carbon fiber hood with heat extractor vents and a carbon wing out back. An aggressive front splitter, rear diffuser, and rear overfenders create a widebody effect. A custom interior from JPM Coachworks features a Sparco steering wheel and racing seats finished in red, while Cusco supplies the eight-point roll cage.

Hyundai's High Performance R-Spec Platform Provides the Perfect Building Block for its Super Tuner Track Model

COSTA MESA, Calif., Sep. 24, 2012 – Hyundai is again teaming up with ARK Performance to create an ultra-high-performance track edition based on the Genesis Coupe R-Spec model. The ARK super-tuner track edition will debut with the Hyundai brand at the 2012 SEMA show. This special ARK model takes the new Genesis Coupe 3.8-liter, direct-injected engine to an impressive 395 horsepower at 6800 rpm, with axle-flexing torque of 340 lb.-ft. at 5400 rpm. From the exterior, the ARK design theme takes the muscular character lines of the Genesis Coupe to the extreme, with race-like flared over-fenders, an aggressive front splitter, and carbon-fiber hood with heat-extractor vents.

I'm interested to know if the Ark Dual Mass Flywheel solves any of the chatter/noise/rattle/transmission/etc. problems that some (if not all) of us have.

+1 ! In need of a new clutch flywheel combo, and dual mass should in theory fix this issue.
