And easy to bleed if you need to. Just crack open the bleeder valve and let gravity work for you.

Any idea what grease the guy put on the pads in the evo video before putting the fresh set in is?

Usually just silicone dielectric grease like what you put on spark plugs.

has anyone actually done this successfully on their car? the dealership told me that they would charge 700+ for the replacement of the front brake pads...
And how would you know if it is necessary to bleed the brakes or not?

i just did this last weekend, super easy.

One thing to note...

I used Hawk HPS and the rears would not fit. No matter how hard I tried, the rear pads were too wide to fit. In fact it wasnt the pads, it was the shim stuck to the back of the pad. Hawk has some fancy rubberized metal shim stuck to the back of the pad, it was just thick enough to interfere with the seals/pistons.

I ripped them off and they went in perfectly.

I thought Id hear squeeks and rattles without the shim but fortunately there was no ill effect.

You don't need to bleed the brakes. Pad replacement is really easy if you have Brembos.

It is a good idea to bleed out all the old fluid every two years or so though.

Brembo's around 150$

Be careful Hyundai dealers sell the pads 300$ + for stock pads.
Ripoff !!

Take the time to do it yourself you will then know how to change pads for the rest of your life !

When you are used to it,it should take you no more than 1 hour for all 4 wheels.

Front pads for the Brembo brakes should be a little bit less, about $125. Throwdown sells EBC red stuff for $126, which I think is hands down the best non-track pad on the market. I've used them before and the only reason I'd switch to a different brand is if EBC stopped making them.

Yellow for track use
Red for street use.
Yellow less dust and noise that the Hawks HP Plus.the Hawks sound like a bus is stopping.

anyone have trouble to install the EBC yellowstuff rear pads into the brembo calipers? mine is difficult to fit in. the pads are bit wider than the stock pads.
