I would say Blue because it gives off a chill effect while white LED's are just like lights at home.

Depends on where you get it.

The blue from LEDglow or whatever the company is called. There blue is off quite A bit off from stock blue.

Diode dynamics has a blue that's closest to the stock blue BUTTTTTT the problem with those is that when they are installed they look purple at night because of black carpets :-/. It's a pretty much perfect match in color to stock but the damn black in th car makes it "appear" purple. I have the DD now.

Awesome, I just did this on friday with some Flex Lights. Wired it to the fusebox but I had to build in a switch since the switches are after the fuse box. I rigged up a nice switch right behind my OBD port under the steering colum. Ill post photos if anyone is interested.

Is this correct? You guys didn't (need) use resistors?

Would the diagram below be possible? I only need two switches for four LED strips

i didnt need to use resistors or switches. I tied my lights into the dome lights. So they only come on when the doors are open. I am considering adding a switch to be able to turn them on manually tho.

I would like a switch. With the switch, do the lights come on when the door are unlocked/open? Did you wire your car like in my second diagram minus the switch? I have little knowledge of what I'm doing. Want to be perfect before I go at it.

Yes, when the doors are unlocked they come on. They are on some kind of timer/relay not sure of the exact length. But if you dont open the door or if you open & close it the lights will go out when the dome lights goes out.

I understand wanting it to be perfect. I wasn't exactly sure how 2 do it when i did. But i took apart the dome light fixture how it is on page 2 of the thread. I used a metal coat hanger & fished the wire thru the opening to the door. I had to take off the sun visor. That made it easier 2 find the hanger. Oh yeah i also taped the wires to the coat hanger b4 i fed it thru. If memory serves I did use the red 4 power & the green for ground. 4 me feeding the wires thru was actually the hardest part. Once the wires were pulled thru I pulled back the trim push the wires in place, put the trim back on & pulled of the side skirts by the seats since that's where i mounted mine.

As far as the switch(s) I'm not sure. Since i'm not sure that power is going to the dome light when the door is closed. U might need to pull power from the fuse box. Perhaps some1 with more exp with this can give better insight as far as the wiring for the switches. Or check the DIY threads to see if another lighting thread. I think there might be.

Hope that helps

Thanks DC1721. I'm going to try this. Your explanation is good. I hope it goes fine and dandy with the switch.

I used same wiring plan. I also put a two-way switch to either be on dome power or tied to the dimmer on the dash.

Default LED footwell lighting

Why not tap into the wire loom under the door sills. Find the wires coming from each of the door switches(which controls the windows raising/lowering when you open/close the doors). I used this to connect my LED door sills.orange and black on drivers door and green and black on passenger door....search on forum for LED door sills. If you want you can hide a switch somewhere under the dash to have them come on manually......

The only reason I didn't do that was because I didn't want to splice into the wiring harness. By tapping the dome light you don't have to cut anything, you keep the wiring intact. Just for those who don't want to run into warranty or electrical problems should they arise, not saying they will, but as insurance.

I did this DIY a couple weeks ago and it came out great. I bought a 4-way switch box that i got from Auto Zone so i didn't have to tap into the dome lights and what not. And since i got a 4 way switch i was thinking of other things that i could hook up to a switch and thought i should install some leds under the hood since newer cars never come with lights under the hood anymore. Here are some picks of the box and lights below

Even though you cant see these wires while sitting in the car it was bugging, me so i managed to tuck them behind that black panel so you can't see them anymore

Blue leds (with flash on)

Blue leds (flash off)

Engine bay with white leds
