+1. INTERESTED! Transmission is the biggest area that I despise about this car. I have had good luck with diff. mount but would love to see a matching set of engine/tranny/diff mounts at a reasonable price from a reputable dealer.

Is that a new product? Price isn't bad.

I found these on there too: Megan Racing

I still may just make my own bracket for the tranny for half the price of the Megan.

Those are cheaper but much harder than the CPE mounts. Apparently 70A is automotive tire tread while 50A is a pencil eraser. I think I'd have to get my engine balanced properly before I ran those.

How do you get your engine balanced so that you don't feel the NVH caused by engine/tranny mounts?

That is the main reason why I don't want to get the engine mounts and I'm hoping that the tranny mount I got for my birthday (megan racing) doesn't make it too bad.

You have to take the engine apart and get the full rotating assembly balanced.

Filled PU mounts is something i have done on a few of my past cars and was planning on doing to the gen as well but would also be interested in more aftermarket solutions especially for auto mount on the zf's

brianjoy77,
To be clear, your bracket would bolt around the mount, effectively making it rigid, right?

If your not going to make/sell these brackets anytime soon then can you share the dimensions? You know, a little open-source help for the group. It sounds like you got pretty close. Just a sketch of the pre-bend cut out would help.

Heck, if anyone has a OEM or Meagan mount laying around then can you give me length, width, and bolt spacings and height?

I might be able to get the bracket made and I could post results. I have some 1/8" aluminum sheet that should be strong enough. Are there enough bolt threads left to hold the 1/8" plate?

Filled the mount with epoxy - Now the exhaust is louder?

Why did my exhaust sound get louder after this mod?

I expected more vibration and I got it. I expected more transmission sound (the werrrrr'ing of the gears) and I got that, too. But I don't understand why the exhaust is louder? My drive-train and exhaust are stock.

I used epoxy (4 containers, .85oz each)

Just installed a used oem mount yesterday that i bought half a year ago.
Was filled with 50A i believe, but o man. shifting feels so great!
Didn't get as much vibration or noise as i expected. id say its negligible.
EVERYONE should do this.

The epoxy I used is probably around 75D (much harder than what choboy9242 used). That is probably why I have more vibration and that isn't a problem for me.

I estimate that this mod has raised my transmission up about 1/2". Could that have caused an exhaust leak (stock exhaust, never removed)?

Some people have discussed installing a solid mount. Did you get an increase is exhaust noise?

Does anyone here have a solid transmission mount? I had a problem re-installing my rigid mount. To get the cross brace holes to lineup I had to loosen the top bolts. Because I tightened the top bolts last, I couldn't get to them to the ~50 ft-lbs (felt light the original torque). I know its bad but how big a deal is it?

I have this same rattle at low speeds. I don't mind if it isn't hurting anything.

Why would you not recommend a solid mount or bracket?

Did anything ever came of all this talk?

has anyone used a filled oem mount and megan trans mount? Can you comment on any differences between the two? Megan mount seems to be out of stock. Thanks
