They have a tuning event in VA in February. Hopefully it's out by then...
It would be nice to be able to get tuned as we upgrade the cars vs finding a tuning event from the tuner that originally tuned our cars.

From what I gathered, It'll be preloaded with some basic maps. Locked into the vehicle/ECU via software so one wouldn't be able to buy a single unit and tune every car they can find local to them. Finally have the ability for a user to hook a laptop with the software and make changes/create a map on their own. Assuming remote tuning capabilities as well so one could upload info to a tuner and then receive an adjusted map.

Here's the Sonata preloaded maps:

"Stock Tune (1.2 bar/ 17.5 psi)
LAP3 Stage 1 - 91+ Octane Tune (1.3 bar/ 19 psi)
LAP3 Stage 1.5 - 92+ Octane Tune (1.4 bar/ 20.5 psi)"

Looks like their store page isn't working correctly because the only products that are "in stock" is for the Optima/Sonata and I know the Veloster has modules.

From their FB post on Oct. 8th:

"LAP3 ECU Re-flash modules for BK1 & BK2 are now ready. #check
LAP3 ECU Map Editor software is also ready. #check
We are still working on the data logging software, and we hope to release this ultimate tuning solution for the Genesis Coupe platform soon. Thank you for your interest and patience.
Stay tuned! "

Bolded the most relevant info for everyone pertaining to my reply.

Don't bother holding back plans. Just get tuned by SFR and move on. They have stopped with the updates because everyone got mad after they missed the christmas release date and the guys evangelizing were posting with wording that came across as promises. So, they've stopped giving updates and we don't know when it will be ready, but it will come I'm sure.

From what I gather, it's the BK2 3.8 (possibly 2.0 as well?) data logging peice holding it back. No, they aren't going to release what they have for the other models.

Dangit. I want to run a topmount GT30R based setup with E85. And tune it myself. I've been considering abandoning the platform that I love so much due to so few options.

Be patient, it'll come. You can also talk to sfr about it or go haltech which imo is your best option

I've considered all those, but they each have major drawbacks unfortunately. I appreciate the responses, however.

loki, I first wanted to pursue a BW 7064 (or 7163) with a twin-scroll topmount, but they discontinued the manifold right before I went to order. How are you coming with yours? *click* on build thread link...

Frankly speaking i changed my mind and now waiting 7163 with single scroll v-band ewg 0.85 housing. I guess it will arrive on march, unfortunately BW doesn't offer this turbine housing as a kit, so i had to buy supercore (chra and compressor housing assembly) and turbine housing separate. Housings are in stock, but for supercore lead time was 26 business days when i placed in middle of Jan. Reviewing multiple 2.0 dynos i found that it suits 2.0 much better than 7670, very little sacrifice on top end with huge spool advantage (like up to 1000rpm) and given that 7163 has mixed flow turbine, GammaTi turbine wheel and is known for insane response under load - i think it's a right decision. 7670, even TS, better suits 2.2 stroker at least imo. As for manifold choice, i've been considering Lovefab, but recently my mate introduced me to a nice welder guy, here is a pic of his work:

More pics here -> https://www.drive2.ru/l/461630507751310932/

He kinda provides lifetime warranty, however i do not really understand how is that possible for tubular manifold.

Most likely it'll be tuned on Link g4+ xtreme, the only thing i cannot justify - $800 for patch harness at Boomslang. WTF, it's not even a complete harness! 1300 for electronics which required a thousands of R&D and another 2/3rd of that for a bunch of wires and connectors, srsly? However i haven't been able to find a place to make a good harness locally, and that pisses me off a bit, as i have no idea how to mate it with oem ecu and tcu and seem to be stuck with boomslang.

The other option is standalone TCU, like Atecu or RATCU, but i've been told it's not really for daily driver.

Which drawbacks of each did you consider?

I'm on a 7164 EFR with a DEI bottom mount cast manifold. I've had the manifold for 4 years now, no cracks. I had AGP make me a compact turbine which made it possible to fit at all. SEE MY BUILD THREAD.. If you have any questions PM me. This is the best turbo i've had on the car and i've had 3 different turbos since 2012. The spool is amazing no doubt about that. My buddy has a more stout engine build than I do he did a 7670 and made 504whp (mustang dyno) on 100 octane. He also has the mild tomei cams revving high 7000s. At this power level the engine mounts are a huge issue, can't get the car into gear at highest load even with the megan engine and trans mounts. 400 whp like i have is obviously much more manageable. Your car being an auto this should be less of an issue but that remains to be seen. So even after you figure out what you want to do there will be plenty of more work left to do to try and put power down.

I held out on the haltech for a long time but I finally gave in, best mod i've done. The driveability is good while being as hardcore as you want it to be. It's a shame there isn't more support for the automatic coupes.. you might be stuck with stock ecu and tcu, most auto builds i've seen were BTR tuned

I asked them on FB for an update yesterday...they got back to me today and basically said the same thing they've been saying for the past 6 months - "we're working on it"...which, in my opinion means that they're no longer working on it.

Too bad, because I think they're passing up some good revenue. I already have a tune and would definitely buy one.

Isn't BTR supposed to be working on one, as well?

BTR has been 'working' on theirs for even longer I believe. They were the ones buying up all of the PowerAxle modules for the handheld tuner. That was a WHILE ago
