Why do the HIDs look so blue? Something tells me it's riced out.

Kristin, do you have plans on painting your 19"s or leaving them as is and going after market?

Hrm.. I hadn't considered painting them.


I was planning on:
Getting aftermarket ones for summer
Switching the stock TIRES onto the aftermarket rims I get
&
Saving the stock 19's for winter, and getting better winter tires for the stock 19" wheels.

But now I'm considering just paying cash for a crappy old truck for the winter months, and garaging the coupe.

The HIDs may look so blue because of the white balance. With everything else being so warm, the HIDs would end up being much cooler in the shot unless you metered on them, then everything else would look yellow/red


Or they may have changed the bulbs for a higher kelvin bulb...

How is having a higher kelvin HID bulb riced out?

Having fake Silverstar "Blue" bulbs is riced out, actual HID's aren't rice.

because people do it for looks only. The higher you go the worse the actual lighting output....obviously. So technically it is rice sir.

for what it's worth, drop in HID kits are pretty ricey too..

The car looks pretty good though, from the little I can see.
