Default Was does the log-in process suck?

Every time I log in I have to do it 3 or 4 times before it will stick. Then if I want to reply to a thread or add a post I have to log-in again. It is really frustrating.

Thanks,
JWB

what browser are you using? The login is control through sessions and cookies. The only reason I could imagine your session expiring so quickly is if there is something funky between you and the server. Are you behind a proxy or anything like that?

Do you have the same problem on other forums?

As FlesHBoX stated, your login is controlled by cookies. So there might be something interfering with that.

If you don't mind, and if you're familiar with it, you can try deleting the cookie for this site.

That's cause you should have gotten a crackberry lol

j/k. It may actually be for the same reason. I don't know how well the iPhone browser supports cookies and sessions. You could try, like John mentioned, deleting your cookies for gencoupe.com

I found the cookies and deleted them. There were about 8 or so with Gencoupe in the name.

I am using the Safari browser on a Mac. Could be why the iPhone guy is having the same trouble. Same browser essentially.

I will try to answer some more questions in here to see if I stay logged in now that the cookies have been wiped.

Thanks for the tip (I think),
JWB

Hrm, you might try installing firefox and see if you have the same problem... I wonder if vbulletin has any known issues with safari??

Well, unfortunately I would give up using this forum before switching my browser. However, it looks like deleting the cookies may have helped. I just launched Safari and came in here and saw that I was already logged in. Also, pressing Reply didn't ask me to log-in multiple times like it did before.

I'm not sure how you would deal with that on an iPhone though. I do have one but I'm not sure that I ever tried to log-in from there.

Thanks,
JWB

I would assume that there is some way to delete the cookies since the iPhone browser is a safari variant and the iPhone OS is a scaled down implementation of OSX, so it should at least be similar. Good to know that got it working for you.

Is it just this site that safari has problems with? The site is running Vbulletin 3.6.8, and the current release is like 3.7 I think maybe... but I can't imagine that being it. I can't imagine anything really that would explain it, the site is pretty straight forward vbulletin with no real mods..... unless it is the AJAX add-ons... hrm.... I wonder if Safari has problems with AJAX?

Problems with Safari - vBulletin Community Forum

I wonder if that is related. It's involving a much older version of Vbulletin, but I would imagine that since it is a theme issue that it could be part of the problem.
