Default 2013 Hood Vent debate is over

I found this on a Hyundai site, they are not called vents they are offically called "hood accents"

EXTERIOR FEATURES

Extensive changes were made to the front fascia to take on a much more aggressive stance and display an image of power and agility

• Revised headlamp shape and
graphics
• Revised hood shape with hood
accents
• LED daytime running lights
(3.8 Grand Touring & Track)
• New grille and front fascia
treatment for wider, more
aggressive appearance
• Outside mirror illuminated turn
signals
• Xenon HID headlights

Well considering the only way Hyundai could call them vents, is if they actually vented something, then there's no answer to any debate here... Do you really think a marketing department would let the word fake vents go on anything pertaining to their own product?

Whatever they want to call them, it is certainly not attractive to me. Hopefully they nix the vents/front grill of the '13s in the future refresh.

What would vents do other than let dirt, debris and water into the engine compartment anyway?

Surprised they didn't go with "garnish." Hyundai loves that word.

I'd actually like to see the air intake connected to functional hood vents. Would make for a decent mod.

No it wouldn't, it would provide absolutely no benefit. Don't be silly.

I know it wouldnt ram the air in, but it would provide the same benefit as a CAI.

Being silly is Hyundai putting fake hood vents on in the first place.

There just isn't enough room without adding a good amount of bends.

Hyundai is silly but it's not like their the first ones to do it.

Put vents in there, and call them heat extractors like the 2013 mustang GT has on their hoods.
