Default First impressions.

Picked our 2011 Genesis Coup up at the local dealership yesterday, it has the premium package just beautiful inside.
Great sound system, air conditioning works wonderful in the 28 degree ( c. ) heat, leather seats are very comfortable.
I have never been a fan of four cylinder engines but this 2.0T was impressive indeed.
We gave the coupe a good workout through the city and out onto the highway.
I guess it just comes down to what your expectations are and no question this delightful car exceeded our expectations.
I'm a retired senior and I have no desire to boost the horsepower etc. etc. etc. I don't need anything more than this car has to offer, for me the performance was just perfect, excellent handling and really smooth.
I burned through a bit of gas but I did push the car quite a bit, it doesn't handle quite as good as my Mazda RX8 but sure as heck gives way better gas mileage.
This is a real keeper and for my wife and I it has everything we need in a good comfortable car with a good looking machine like this coupe we couldn't be more pleased with our purchase.

Glad you like it, I guess I was a little late replying to your first thread today. It is possible to hit the 20/30 mpg #'s if you're really careful ,but it's no fun driving the car like that.

Congrats on the new GC. It is great that you like it, and welcome to the forum and to the world of Genesis. As Asianboi360 mentioned, you will most likely have a bunch of pouty Honda guys try to race you. Try to resist the temptation to put them in their place.

Yes thank you, first of all this beautiful black on black Coupe was purchased as a family car. I don't give a rat's vagina about speed, mpg, boosting it etc. etc.
Oh I completely agree with you about how to improve mileage but as you say where's the fun in that ?
I'll let you into a wee secret,,,I'm sixty six years old and ever since I sat astride my first motorbike fifty years ago I've been a friggin speed freak !
As an example, a couple of months ago we were heading for the coast, my wife and I left our home at dawn.
The long winding highway was deserted, first town ( for coffee and gas ) was 147 kilometers away,,,,took me fifty three minutes ,,, at one point on the long straight away I had my RX8 AT 221 kmh.
GO GRANDPA GO !!
Yes indeed my friend ,,even us old guys need a good rush once in a while and a gas pedal beats Viagra ,,,
So I've had this lovely Hyundai Coupe for three days and we absolutely love it, I'm off to the shower then to my golf club ,, wait till my pals see this shiny black beauty,,,have a great day.
