Yes, that's why I was saying that it's not definitive; indicative is a good word ,or I'd even use suggestive (or should have used). More to my point (and I haven't driven one) is that those who have say the new one is incrementally better than the previous. I just think it's funny people assume that it's primitive based solely on the live axle regardless of actual performance. I like both cars, though would probably be much more likely to get the GC, however, internet fans kind of make me laugh. If you went to a mustang site (which I have not) I 'd suppose they would be laughing their @ss off at the thought hotted up Tiburon can compete with their car. |

Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track: Mustang Fighter or Cut-price Nissan 370Z? - Motor Trend
motortrend gen coupe vs. mustang vs. Z i'll still take gen coupe over mustang. and i do not like mustang's V8 rumbling noise. |

they make good points in that review. I don't know where Hyundai messed up to make the handling less than that of the Mustang, but I'm not that worried about it. Basically, it all comes down to personal preferrence. I see way too many mustangs (and grew up a Chevy kid) and I really don't think they are that good looking. The Z doesn't fit me because I'm looking for something a little more mature while still being fun. I think they're right that the Gen ahs the best of both worlds. A couple simple mods to correct Hyundai's over-engineering should put it even with the Mustang. And look better doing it

i can't believe mustang handles better than gen coupe. i've never driven v8 mustang, but it didn't sound like it's a good handling car when edmunds compared mustang to Z.
and many people are saying gen coupe handles like a king. i don't know who to believe. and even if i test drive the car, i probably can't tell the difference anyway.. Last edited by wolverinejoe80; 03-13-2009 at 11:32 AM.. |

Here's my problem: ....2010 FORD MUSTANG GT..2010 HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE 3.8 TRACK..2009 NISSAN 370Z TOURING Price as tested $34,330.................$30,250................... ....$38,155 (est) They didn't even mention not once, about the price they paid, and how it factors in. As for the Z, I won't touch a car that is better left stock. I don't want a stock car, I want one that I can make it my own, with the mods that I want. As for the Mustang. Sounds awesome, which I'm sure it is. Problem is, I sincerely think the Genesis Coupe has yet to find all the horses hidden away behind the traction control, and rear end gearing that it needs. It's just too soft from the factory, liven it up, and it will compete! I know it will! I'll bet my money on it! Tough choice. Lets see $4K more, or use the $4K to mod my Genesis Coupe. Nah, easy, Genesis Coupe all the way! Edit: wolverinejoe80, you are a saint, thank you for finding that.

Now, I await a comparison that factors in price...
Edmunds, please put some light on the subject, you guys tend to be more realistic when comes to the common buyer, and how I think, personally. Yes, I like Edmunds, admittedly so... except for the big mess there is with Inside Line, it's was so well organized, and cleaner reviews, util they came along.

New Mustang GT performance wins against to Infiniti G37.
But, Mustang's fuel economy is horrible. and its lack of refinement. Mustangs are too many in road... its not unique. and Mustang's image is a high school boy's car. Last edited by ed3cjd; 04-04-2009 at 06:16 PM.. |
