Can't disable ESC on 2013 3.8 Track Auto

So, I traded in my 2011 Shelby GT 500 on a 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track Auto. The only reason I bought the Track model was to get the torsen rear diff. I didn't really want the stiffer suspension or the 19 inch wheels, and although I like the Brembos, I would have purchased the Grand Touring model if it was available with the torsen diff. The reason I wanted a relatively high horsepower rear drive car with a torsen diff is that I enjoy occasional full power, controlled over steer shenanigans. Only where it's safe of course. However, even after holding the traction control button for several seconds, and a message tells me that both traction control and stability control are off, the electronic nannies and paranoid lawyers still take over and kill the fun just when it starts to get entertaining. There is a definite cut in power and an up-shift (yes, even in manual mode) right when a power slide is a its peak. WTF? The advertisements brag about the control offered by the torsen diff during spirited driving, but the nannies cut the power and up-shift just when the fun starts? The car and the advertisements are lying to me. The stability control is definitely NOT off, and I can't partake in the joy of a rear drive torsen diff when the engine cuts power.
So, I have a few questions. Is this true for the manual equipped cars, too? Is there an aftermarket tune that will allow me to do what Hyundai said I can do, which is turn off the electronic nannies? Why did I see so many reviews where drivers were able to keep the ass end out in a full power drift? Did Hyundai set the test cars up differently? If manual equipped cars allow the ESC to be fully disabled, I'm thinking about requesting that Hyundai take my car in trade for a 6 speed manual car along with a refund of the price difference. I consider this to be false and deliberately deceptive advertising.
Sorry my first post here is a rant, but I think it's absurd that Hyundai claims that ESC can be disabled and even displays a message saying that it's disabled when it isn't. Safety nannies and liars annoy the hell out of me!

Get an SFR reflash if they're even able to tune the '13 3.8 yet. It allows you to completely disable it. It's like that on all years and models.

My 13 2.0T auto has no nannies when fully turned off.. I have done all kinds of slides and burnouts at Auto-X courses too.

Are you sure it isn't just how the Auto is shifting? Have you gotten the Reflash (Dealer TSB) for the transmission yet?

I can do low speed burnouts and slides, too, but only to a point. Once my speed is up over 30mph or so, the cut in power is very noticeable when the tail comes out. The cut in power is accompanied by an unwanted and early up-shift, but I'm pretty certain that it's not just the up-shift alone that kills the fun. I searched around this site for a while, and quite a few people say that ESC will kick in even when it's turned off. I'm wondering if it's true for both automatics and manuals, though. What else can you tell me about the reflash and dealer TSB for the tranny? Another thing I noticed is that if I floor this car from a stop in first gear, manual mode and let off at 5K rpm, it will up-shift to second. That's 1500RPM before redline. I really wish there was a way to make it stay in gear while in manual mode.....

There is no way to stop the up-shift, nor can you raise the rev limit on the autos (i believe). i to hat ethis function but after you have owned the car a while you will find you can feather the throttle to keep the tires spinning but not up-shift.

Trading in the Shelby wasn't an easy choice, but I wanted car that I could drive all year round, and I couldn't bring myself to drive the Shelby in snow and salt. Plus it was just a little bit too far "over the top". Lots of fun, but a little on the obnoxious side. I guess I want to have my fun with a little more subtlety.
Thanks for the replies. I'll definitely talk to someone at SFR.

That's definitely something I can understand lol. Having lived up north in the slow a part of my life I would agree with you. I live in Florida now and probably wouldn't pass up the chance to own a Shelby haha. Anywho, glad to have you a part of the GenCoupe family, assuredly a fun car to drive!

Thanks for the info, Lazn. After a little more research yesterday, I suppose it could be just the early up-shift rather than a cut in engine power that kills the fun, but it really feels like both. The up-shift definitely comes much earlier when the back end steps out, and that's when I least want it. I really *really* wish it would hold a gear until I decide to shift.
I looked at the tranny TSB, but it's not clear to me what the problem symptoms are or what will be different after the TCU update. The TSB says improved "shift quality". The quality of the shits seems fine - it's just that they happen way too early when I most want it to hold a gear. I've seen some people here mention slipping between gears, but I don't have that problem. I suppose the thing to do is get it done and see if it helps.

it up shifts once it reaches redline..... when it up-shifts while you birning out - you end up in low rpms in second gear because you really going much slower then what your rmps /speedo said during your burnout....

if you think that ESC does interfere - take out your ABS fuse
or disconnect one ABS sensor - this method will disable ESC 100% and will not put car in the limp mode

My car will often up-shift at least 1500 rpms before it reaches redline even with my foot to the floor in manual mode. This is really my only complaint with this car so far.

Like everyone else said, a tune will help, if not get rid of the whole issue. Jay @ SFR knows his stuff, even though he's in Korea right now lol. I have the same car as you except with the manual. With the Traction and Stability off, I fishtail and slide all over the place when I punch it to redline in 1st to 2nd hah. The electronic stuff doesn't bother me when I turn it all off. If i forget to turn it off, the traction control is a huge bishhh.
