Yes, you can do that. It's called warranty fraud. People do it all the time. It is part of the reason why cars cost so damn much. The cost of fraud gets absorbed by everyone else. /sarcasm

Don't doubt it.
Where do you think the money to pay for warranty work (legit or otherwise) comes from?
The invisible flying spaghetti monster certainly doesn't drop it on Hyundai's corporate headquarters while he floats over head, so it's gotta come from somewhere.

So... what wrong with being honest? Is it not cool or something?

If you can't pay to fix it if it breaks and you know the mods will void your warranty, don't pay to mod it in the first place.

You can doubt it all you want. I can doubt that 10 equals 2 but the computer knows the real answer.

Your warranty is paid for in the price of the vehicle, you're not paying for "warranty fraud" in that price. 95% of people on the road don't modify their cars past rims/tires, radar detector, stereo, air fresheners, and "baby on board" window stickers. So where do you think their warranty money goes if they don't use it? It's not like a manufacturer cuts you back a check and gives you a pat on the back for taking care of your vehicle. Vehicles have gotten more expensive for reasons other then "warranty fraud" (ie. safety features, currency exchange rates, engineering behind better mpgs, technological materials etc.) If the manufacturers were afraid of "warranty fraud" and they felt they were losing a TON of money why would they keep increasing the lengths of warranties?

^^ But a company still has to be profitable. If they can lower total overhead costs (including warranty work) they would NO DOUBT sell their cars at lower prices so as to undercut the competition. - More competitive prices = more units sold = more profit. EVERY expense that an auto company incurs has to be factored into their vehicle pricing. That's the way business works. You're not looking at the big picture.

If your worried about your warranty, how about being reasonable with the mods so your chances of trouble are virtually nil and not detectible by the dealer.

modifying the exhaust system, IC and a mild reflash should be plenty safe and not raise any eyebrows while still providing a real nick in the pants power wise.

Never said being honest wasn't "cool". But to preach to everyone about being honest when 99% of people on this site are adults is kind of lame. Like I said above, you pay for the warranty in the price of the vehicle. So are you not going to try and use that warranty? Lets say you put an intake on your vehicle and a week later the engine blew up. Now you and I both know the intake is not to blame, but the dealership (in an attempt to save the manufacturer money) will blame it anyway. Are you just going to fork out $5,000 because of something faulty on the manufacturers part or are you going to take a half hour out of your day to put the OEM intake back on and save your money? So in essence you're going to pay three times, once for the warranty, once for the aftermarket intake, and another for the blown engine. Man you must be a saint, or just VERY rich.

I am looking at this from a warranty standpoint, not whether or not there are donuts in the Hyundai breakroom that could have saved them $3.50 if not bought.

no freakin' kidding. It's Beyond Redline's thread, but that's beside the point. Can you guys take the warranty squabbling somewhere else? It is insane how ADD this forum is. Leave this thread to Beyond Redline and their results discussion. Argh I'm so aggrevated.

Seriously, nicely done, I'm looking forward to at the very least get the bolt ons done but keeping the option open for bigger turbo when the bug bites again.

(intake, intercooler + piping, down pipe, exhaust and tune). From what it sounds like injectors weren't needed until you started cranking up the boost on the bigger turbo.

Is the exhaust relatively quiet on the street? Kinda hard to tell in a closed in garage on a dyno.
The exhaust is very streetable. I think it sounds great.

Once the finished product is available we will have a complete high resolution video with improved audio to demonstrate how the exhaust sounds in multiple environments...eg: start up, revving up from a stand still, drive by, in car, etc.

Can't wait to get started on it, but we need to finalize a few more details before we can get production rolling.

As requested, I've created a thread for warranty squabbling, but face facts kiddies, this forum (like ALL others) does not stay on topic.

Warranty squabbling, new thread as requested.
