No, I didn't forget at all, I'm just trying to set some of the 2.0 people straight that this isn't $500 worth of bolt on parts

A boost controller is only as good as the supporting parts and tune... what you said about the 3.8 goes just as much and perhaps doubly so for the 2.0t. If you turn that boost up further than is safe you are going to eat another heavy bill for replacement parts and repair work.

All that being said, where are the chassis limits? How well does the GC handle power and how well can it put it down? How strong is the transmission? Differential? Weak spots in the axles? Crappy U joints in the drive shaft?

I don't know how much experience you have with high horsepower cars, but 400 wheel is beyond what a large number of "enthusiasts" can handle especially if there is any surging or lagging.

isn't the auto tranny in the 3.8 the same in the sedan that's making more power?

That's what they say, but I've not got the auto and as I'm sure you know it's only one link in the equation.

This does bring up an interesting thought... the sedan is heavier and has more power. Does it have a stronger differential? Can that differential be bolted in or modified to fit?

The V8 final drive is 3.133:1 as far as I can tell, which wouldn't be all that impressive for most GCs, but on a FI 3.8 that might make for a usable first gear. Heck, without doing the math, I'm pretty sure you'd hit 60mph halfway through second.
I think the 3.8 in the Sedan is a 3.91:1 which might be a nice swap for us V6 coupe people.

I would asume for cost reasons that it is the same.

I asked this very same question in a similar thread but nobody is answering.

Frankly I don't think anyone knows.... Some say the clutch slips at 380hp(whp?) but thats the most i've read here. Give it 6 months after people have had them long enough to see how the transmission will hold up at the strip/track... let alone the rest of the drivetrain...

We don't know yet. We can make educated guesses, but until someone actually finds the limit we won't know for sure.

Hey guys, i know this may be a bit off topic, but your thread is getting crazy attention from people not on these boards(or the other ones this is posted on). I was walking out of class today and saw another guy there looking at the thread, he got linked from friends. apparently it has been reposted on another(non genesis) board or something.

Just letting you guys know. keep up the good work. The internet is watching...
