White smoke coming out from exhaust even after the car is off help!!!

So i was just driving back from home today, and on my way home I filled up with gas without any problems. As I was getting out of my car, i noticed that white smoke was coming out from my back of my exhaust, even though my car was off. It was coming out from left side only, which i understand since my car is slanted a bit due to my driveway, but is it normal for white smoke to be coming out for a good minute :S?
If it helps any, it's raining right now in my area and its around 5 degrees celcius currently.
I tried wafting the smoke a bit to smell it but it smelt like nothing.
Am I just being paranoid?? Help please!!!

im wondering from what tho :S because I'm thinking if it's steam from engine... wouldn't I see the steam coming up from my hood area??? I don't know lol and if it was due to heat from the exhaust, then i figured the steam should be coming out from both tips, since tips are on both ends and steam would be coming when rain makes contact with the exhaust tips. I figured it's got to do with something that's coming from the engine or something since the steam is coming out of one side only due to elevation.

White smoke = water.

Condensation inside your exhaust system simply evaporating because of high operating temperatures of an exhaust system once properly warmed up.

<nerd>
Water is a by-product of any hydro-carbon (i.e., gasoline) and oxygen combustion. The combustion releases heat energy which causes the water to evaporate.

When I first saw the title of this thread, this is exactly what I thought, but that's because my first car was a MK3 Supra Turbo...notorious for blown head gaskets. I had mine go once on me...the entire street was full of white smoke, after I backed out of my driveway.

I'm sure that the OP's is probably just steam...hopefully!

likely it's water. however, did you smell anything? if so, it's possible it was coolant, and therefore you should check your coolant levels and for any leaks. otherwise, you're fine
