Oh and lawyer's fees and lost time, plus whatever expenses you have for planning to travel to them in December to get the car.

Anyway, I don't have a Somethingawful.com or 4chan account. BUT..well...if someone did have an account with one of them, you can't exactly stop them from posting there...I figure as long as you don't encourage people to do so, you're fine...

Tell your lawyer to write a letter to Hyundai. If properly written, a simple piece of paper can do a lot. And I wouldn't talk to Consumer Affairs. Address the letter to someone in the higher up. Some people have been claiming that this car auction falls under the non-binding agreement rules on ebay.com.

Complete random question, is there a Blue book or NADA price estimate for the 2010 Genesis? Or is it still too new of a car to have a used car value posted on their sites? I guess I'm curious to see how far of $16k is from the used value of this car, mostly to see how petty they are being. I would assume $16k is under blue book, but I can't see it being THAT under. And I bet if the OP was going to their dealership with a Genesis to trade in, they would try to convince him to take 16k or even less.

exactly, he hasn't done anything but post truths and facts about his expereince, if a few crazy people out there decided to go further, he is NOT responsible for thier actions and GH is lucky he was able to get them to stop.

Just as if I said smoking is bad, and then someone said I hate all smokers, and then someone else said they should all die, and someone burnt their bulding down..... I would not be one bit responsible, nor would any legal actions against me hold up in court even slightly.

so IF people decided o bombard them will calls again, it could effect an out of court verbal agreement if part of the agreement was to get them to stop, but it can in no way effect anything legal, other than making it hard fo them to do business with all the phone calls. Also why saying don't call this number 1800xxxxxxx, is safe to say., you can't control what people do. the only problem you coulr legally run into if they wanted to track you down, which is very difficult to do legally online (if you didn't rip someone off lol) is go after you for posting thier phone number, but as long as it is public infomation, they can't even go after you for that.

This thread has me completely fed up with Hyundai. I've been shopping for a Sonata for my girlfriend during the past few weeks, but this weekend, I just said "**** it" and decided to look for a different car. During my car search I had called/emailed about six dealerships about Sonatas.

Every one of them followed up with me because I said I was buying on Saturday. To each Hyundai dealership that followed up, I sent back an email with a link to the AutoBlog entry for this event and a comment about how I don't feel as though I should do business with a car company that allows their dealers to treat customers like that.

They all sent back replies about how they have "100% Customer Satisfaction" and other BS, but maybe it made an impact. Though, I doubt it.

yea, to Hyundai comsumer affairs or whomever.... It might not be your fualt that this happened, as you have no control over what they do really. But when something like this happens, and you do nothing to keep them in check, THEN, it goes agaist your good name.
Once you know about it, and do nothing about it, its almost like condoning it...

Otherwise, I've linked to it at the end of this letter.

The behavior of this dealership has very much hurt the reputation of Hyundai in the eyes of many, and it has certainly cost you a customer -- myself. Normally, I wouldn't take the time to inform a company of their poor decision making; instead, I leave it to the market forces to drive such companies into irrelevance.

What changes my mind about this practice is Hyundai's courage. A car as wonderful as the Genesis Coupe really displays a type of character that isn't often seen in this industry: a willingness to listen to customers and give them what they want, not what a committee decides they should. I want to let you know that people love the GenCoupe; to tell you that people would love to buy one, but are being held back by the fact that they are being treated as less-than-human by dealerships that represent YOUR company.

When sales of the GenCoupe are poor, don't blame it on the car; it's perfect and people want it. Instead, blame the people who represent Hyundai -- and yourself.

I will be providing this letter in its entirety to the members of GenCoupe.com, in the hope that every potential customer that feels the same as I do decides to let Hyundai know. When enough of these letters come in, I know that a company like Hyundai will listen to us and fix this problem.

That is too bad that they did not uphold their part of their agreement. I's very puzzling that Glenn Hyundai would back out, considering the onslaught of calls and hellish wildfire that ensued as a result of your story.

I for one do not want to do anything to jeopardize your chance to buy the said coupe for the winning amount, but I sure as hell want to do everything in my power to make sure justice is served and Glenn Hyundai has a very hard time selling cars from now on.
