well yesterday went pretty bad went to a dealership to make a deal on a 2.0t and numbers just didn't add up so i ended up leaving. the day wasn't a total loss as i actually got to ride in quartermaster's car which was bad ass! so i've been searching around and i found a 3.8 with about 100 miles on it never been purchased the dealership basically just wants to get rid of it because its been on the lot too long. build date is 9/30/09 or something like that. i've done numbers on the 2.0t and the v6 and they pretty much came up to be the same if i went with this particular v6. should i pull the trigger on the v6?
If they're the same cost and you're not looking for a turbo setup, might as well. Just make sure you get what you want as you're going to have it for a while. There are starting to be a few more options like stroker kits, PA flash box, and cams coming out for the V6 so breaking 300whp should be pretty doable soon, if not already without pressing a button.
Edit: I think if you look a little more or wait out a better deal you should be able to find a 2.0T for a good bit cheaper than a V6. I got my 2.0T Track for $24.5K so I would imagine $21K would be doable on a base model if you find a deal.
How much are they asking for the V6, if you don't mind?
they are asking for 21,450 but i have negative equity on the trade so i will have to shell out some cash i actually do like turbo setups especially when quartermaster gave me a demo of his car and i've owned a turbo car in the past but it seems like this deal is too good to pass up...

Damn, that's a good price for sure. That'd be hard to pass up... I love my 2.0T but at that price id probably bite if I didn't have a coupe yet. Chris w/ VTEngineering is looking to swap track rear end for base rear end for $750 as well, so that would take care of the no LSD problem...
yeah i know and all the dealerships i've been working with all said i was bull sh*ting them when i told them about this deal i have. (i was trying to price match at different dealerships to try and get the color i wanted but they weren't willing to lose out on so much) the color they have is my 3rd choice... k. white
It depends whether you'd rather build a 2.0 or 3.8, both have potential. The 3.8 gets better mileage for most people and outa the box it's more fun, but if you really want a project and the ability to do lots of little stuff to your car then wait for a 2.0.
sorry quartermaster i didn't want you to drive all the way down here on a deal that may or may have not gone down lols but i am happy to say that i am now a proud owner of a white 3.8. the deal was too good to be true. at the dealership where i met you they were quoting me for a base 2.0t out the door with negative equity on my trade 28,000! at laguna niguel i got the 3.8 for 26000 out the door so i didn't even have to put any money down whatsoever. thanks again for the help man. when is the meet again and what time?
Congrats sir! I like the choice of colour and engine!
