Hey guys just got a question to through out there. I currently drive an 06 Tiburon Se and i am potentially lined up for a new job come July and i test drove a 3.8 track the other day and was thrilled. If i get this new job i am going to be purchasing a gen-coupe. I didn't due much research before a bought my tib and im trying not to make the same mistake. I just am asking for some people to post up there opinions on why they like there 2.0T gencoupe over the 3.8 or visa verse any input would be nice. So i guess my question would be what would be the better car for me to go for. I know im not answering much do i want to stay n/a or f/i but ide settle for either but which car would give me more bang for my buck?
Any input is appreciated.
EDIT: Please forgive me if this is in the wrong section

There are like 10 2.0 or v6 threads, no need for another. Do the research this time around.

10? There must be a hell of a lot more than that. I swear someone posts this same thread once a week, or at least someone has in the (almost) year that I have been around. These threads are just starting to spam up the joint.

Searching this topic cannot POSSIBLY be difficult, unless you are completely inept...

No offense, but this whole 2.0 vs 3.8 is played out.

Personally, I feel that the 2.0T gives you better bang for the buck, but I would go with the 3.8 as I like it a lot more.

Honestly, it comes down to what you yourself value and want in the car. Drive both and see what you like and take it from there. Look at what your requirements are in terms of handling, power, modifications you want to do and that will help you choose.

I was dead-set on the 2.0T because I feel that it is a much better value. I test drove it and really liked it.

I then test drove the 3.8 and honestly, I liked it more than the 2.0T. Although, I don't think that the value is there as much as the 2.0T, it's a much nicer car and is the one I would go with.

If you need more help choosing I would browse the forums and see what people are doing with their 2.0T and the 3.8 models, it will give you an idea as to what can be done on both.

And before I get flamed, my statements 3.8 vs 2.0T are just my opinion and based on what I personally value. No matter what for every person praising the 2.0T for one thing there will be another praising the 3.8 for the exact same, it's really preference as they are both excellent choices in my opinion (I would be happy with either.)

*sigh* I'm too nice ^.^

OP, go V6 if you want power out of the box. Take the turbo version if you like to mod.

However, the turbo is a good choice for the price point as well. You just don't get as many color choices in the 2.0T track model as you do in the V6 track model, which doesn't make sense to me, but eh, I'm not a hyundai developer :p

You're welcome ^.^ And just a reminder, be sure to search if you have any mod questions and such before posting. Unless you enjoy donning flame-retardent suits :p

Better value in the 2.0T, especially if you're gonna dump money into mods anyway. Also keep in mind the actual rwhp is not as drastically different between the two. 3.8 = ~250rwhp, 2.0T = ~185rwhp, quite different from the advertised 96hp. Tune, exhaust, intake and you're looking at stock 3.8 numbers

Choosing which platform you want depends on your goals. :D Think long and hard about what you want to do and make a decision. Remember, what someone else wants doesn't necessarily equate to what you would want.

In support of the OP I'd like to say that the forum's search is completely ****ing useless for searching one of the most commonly posted threads we have (why is that admins? can this be fixed?).

That being said, if you browse the first couple pages of the general discussion or engine areas you will probably find at LEAST one comparison thread.
For example, there is a 2.0 vs. 3.8 thread right on the very first page of general discussion... I understand the frustration with search, but not even rollin to the end of the first page is pretty lazy.

Mods, can we sticky some of the 2.0 vs. 3.8 information and/or make "2.0 vs 3.8" searchable? No matter how you enter it, whether you use boolean connectors or not, the search function says "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

Off-topic: I'm a software developer at a web-based search engine company, and I have a decent amount of experience with information retrieval. If the mods are interested, I would be will to do some side work. In a few weekends, I could make your search return results quicker than MySQL can return the forum listing :).

P.M. if interested.
