I'm paying $130 a month for 6 months, full coverage, clean record, mercury insurance. I think I have certain discounts applied as well, such as good driver and student.

Through progressive I was at 250/mo with just this car - full coverage with a 100 deductible. Car started out at 200 and increased due to some stupid Colorado driver global increase and the fact that since I dive on the airport they decided to stick it to anyone who does so and add an extra premium ... bahhhh.

My new BMW 335xi is actually 200 mo again with same coverage as ^

Edit - ok forgot to mention....
I'm 30
$1,500,000 property and $500,000 personal (requirements for driving on an airport)

  • Former Genesis owner - Had Track 3.8L M/T /w Nav.
  • Traded ^ for BMW 335xi - but have plans to pick up the new track coupe AWD when it hits the market.
  • My SUV is my aircraft - N1350V - fmi www.thinkflight.biz
  • Words of Wisdom - "Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity!" - Bullet Tooth Tony, in Snatch.
  • See ^ - This applies to RTD for running me off the road!

$135/month for me, $100,000 property $100,000 personal coverage with AAA. Just added the car to the policy today. Surprisingly, this was the same for my now-totaled TSX--I thought the premium would be higher.

For reference, I'm 23 and live in Los Angeles.

Either rates in the US are way lower, or I'm getting ripped off.
23 year old male, with 0 tickets, 0 accidents - lowest I could get was $280/month
Nothing else on the policy though..

AAA gives a bunch of discounts for different things, such as multiple cars on the policy (I'm part of my parents policy), so that factors in. If I was to get insurance under my own name, then I'd probably be the same.

The state you are in plays into it as does the specific city or town.
Someone in LA is going to pay more if everything else is equal compared to someone in the woods of Montana.
Military service can be a huge discount too.

If I pay in full for 6 months coverage my Genesis premium and 2009 Xterra is $500/6months for me and the wife.

This is with progressive with all of their standard coverages with $500 deductibles.

I get a discount for being a home owner, but I dont have it insured through progressive as they can't offer home owners insurance in NH.
I get another discount for being a customer for 10 years but Ipay a bit more for not having a garage.

I have 6 tickets total since I was 16 (I am 30).....My wife has 18!
Only one of hers are within the last 3 years.

Each company takes different things into account.
Progressive is heavily weighted toward Credit score and not so much toward moving violations.

Well, I just updated my auto policy to show my car in Rock Hill, SC where we moved a couple weeks ago, instead of Daniel Island, SC. Now it's $63/mo. Didn't know it would change. Good stuff.

I wanna see some NJ insurance rates... I'm still debating between a GC or the G37c, but NJM quoted $1350/year. This is for 300k/300k and 750 deductible. For the G37, they are quoting $1600/year.

I'm 30, and had a terrible record back in the day, but no tickets in the past 4 years.

I live in NJ... everything here (ESPECIALLY car insurance) is more expensive.

At my 3rd premium (3rd set of 6 months) I am at $124/month. Nothing on my record since 2006 when a cop rear-ended my Tiburon and I didn't bother fixing it through insurance since they estimated way too high to fix it.

Also, 24 years old and female. Again... NEW JERSEY.

I went with Progressive. Same coverage as everybody else but at least $80 a month cheaper. The only thing closest was State Farm at maybe $10 more a month than Progressive. However, Progressive has a pet insurance that covers up to $1,000 in vet bills for each pet in the car regardless of who's fault. I bring my pets to work with me once a month for blood donations, and I also bring my dogs to the beach so that was important to me.

I can tell you Traveler's, Geico, New Jersey Manufacturer's (and I even had a discount from my job with them), Esurance, High Point, and Allstate wanted to RAPE me monthly. I mean over $200 a month.

Dirty Jersey Auto Club *Vice President*
Karrusell White 3.8

And I'm too awesome to do this "put mods in my sig" thing.
