I'm paying ~$140/mo in Detroit, MI. My rate should drop a little since I just got married, I just haven't called them yet.

I pay $970 for 6/months. I'm 19, and HAD a clean record, but just got a ticket for 18 over. Hopefully I can get that dropped before the insurance company gets their hands on it otherwise I'll probably be paying several hundred more for that.

If your Canadian, live in Ontario or Quebec and have an accident on your record you should go to Desjardins! They forgive one accident!

My annual insurance quotes (Desjardins Insurance):

30 year old Male, no tickets, 1 at-fault accident, $1000 Deductible
All cars are 2011s:
Genesis Coupe 2.0T $1300
Mustang V6: $1366
Volks GTI 2dr Hatch: $1398
BMW M3 Coupe: $1475
Mustang GT: $1518
Altima 3.5S: $1526
Honda Civic SI: $1528
Corvette: $1538
Subaru WRX 5 Door: $1583
Porsche 911: $2333

ROFL… BMW M3, Mustang GT and a Corvette at the same price or cheaper to insure than a Civic SI!

You're getting ****ed.

Call an aggressive insurance broker. I'm paying less than you are for 3.8, I'm 22, 3 non at-fault accidents, 500$ deductible, no speeding tickets.

I pay $100 a month for full coverage with 500 deductibles. If my car needs to be repaired, they have to pay for new OEM parts.

I'm 30, but I had an at-fault accident last year (at least I got blamed for it) and a speeding ticket back in 2008

I also get a good discount since I've completed professional drivers courses and have a commercial license.

Sticky I've talked to 4 insurance brokers and used about a million online quotes. As soon as you have 1 at-fault accident your rates double. Also, where you live is a huge factor. My rates are double if I change my location from Ottawa to Toronto. Also it's illegal for the Ontario insurance companies to charge you more money for non at-fault claims, that's a big part of why your rates are so low.

PM me your brokers name... I'll call them!

Edit: Sticky if your from the USA then of course my rates look crazy. Ontario has the highest insurance rates in North America. I have 2 friends with Civic SIs that paid over $4500 per year. They were under 20 at the time with no accidents. I've seen some guys with over $7000 for insurance.

Americans the next time you think about complaining about insurance rates read this thread:
Ontario insurance rates (post details here to compare)

Holy **** it's like you live in Toronto! You should switch to $1000 Deductable, it'll save you a couple hundred. You're not going to claim unless it's over $2000 in repairs anyway (If you care about your insurance premiums).

I think it has something to do with all the folks in the General Discussion forum and their accident threads...

Same rate as you.

Yup probably does have a lot to do with them. At least my jeep is still only $20 a month to insure

Btw I have $250 deductible.
