(New) Genesis wondering if mods are already installed

Hi guys. I just took delivery today of an awesome 2014 Gen coupe. Absolutely love the car, words cannot express.

The engine is much more responsive than I expected based on posts. I'm wondering if something was done to it. The engine bay looks stock so I'm wondering if it has a modded ECU installed. Is there a way to check this without trying to top out the car or bouncing it off the rev limiter? The accelerator seems very sensitive as if I had one of those Sprint Boosters installed. Wondering if that's usually that sensitive from stock or if it's likely the ECU has something like a 1:1 throttle mod.

Also, I had plans to get a short throw shifter but it sure feels like one is already installed. I haven't driven this car before so I don't know what it's like stock. (As I had plans to install bushings regardless)

Based on the images below, would you say there's one installed? First image is direct look from the side (height difference maybe?) and the other is straight above shot in third gear.

Thanks for the help!

Shifter looks stock height to me.

If your cruise control still works then you dont have 1:1 as in order to do 1:1 in the tune for a manual car for BK2 (13+ cars), cruise is eliminated.

It could have a tune still that just doesnt do 1:1, as even a regular tune that does not utilize 1:1 throttle mapping still helps with the response.

Also, the 3.8 is naturally more responsive than the 2.0t, so that's another thing to consider. The gripe with the unresponsive/lethargic throttle ive typically seen is 2.0t manual owners (myself included).

Another way to see if its been tuned, at least by BTR, is if the BDM port has been glued/covered. As far as I recall, BTR is the only ones that glue up the BDM port so it cannot be used again; I do not think SFR does this.

My 2015 M/T 3.8 has 1:1 throttle, cruise control is retained. It's an SFR ecu. So that's not a solid way to tell if you have a tuned ECU or not.

Go for a drive and see what the rev limiter is at. Stock ECU is limited around 6800 I think, a canned tune ecu should go to 7200. Keep in mind you need to be in gear and driving, you can't just rev in neutral.

Thanks for the responses guys. I watched a video of someone with their short shift kit and I would agree, I definitely don't have one installed. Seems like a short throw regardless.

I do still have cruise control, tested that this evening. I'll try the redline method soon, after I take it to the mechanic and he gives it a once over before I get too crazy with the car.

Coming from a Scion tC, the throttle is definitely much more sensitive than I expected. I can daily drive using just the first 5-10% of the accelerator travel..
