for the love of god, any new rev hang solutions?

i got an old 86 300zx a few months ago and now even though its beat to hell with a grindy tranny and has 1/2 the power it has become my daily driver and the wife drives the genesis now. the sole reason being that it does not rev hang and does not have a rev down delay (slow rpm drop) which leads to a blissful driving experience with quick and brainless shifting not having to pay attention to how long the engine feels like hanging (and the digital dash and t tops are awesome too). i have a sfr 1.5 on the genesis and while it absolutely improved the power output it did zilch for rev hang. im assuming the rev down is from the weight of the engine rotating mass including the boat anchor dmf since it slows down just as slow if i cut the car off while its coming down, but rev hang is known to be software controlled. is there some way, any way at all, to fix this god awful rev hanging? now that ive been spoiled by how a car should act, i literally cant drive the genesis without a scowl on my face every time i try to shift and the engine just chills at 3000 rpm for 2 seconds forcing me to either wait an eternity to shift or just do it anyway and give myself whiplash from the rpm difference. i would really really like to enjoy driving my $28000 car as much as my $1500 car.

There's only so much software can do to fight physics. Besides, your SFR 1.5 tune should be mitigating the software side of the rev hang problem for the most part. The stock GenCoupe clutch setup is just mechanically flawed, primarily in the flywheel. Get rid of the DMF and your Genesis will feel a lot better. Your 300ZX feels so great because all it has is a good old-fashioned chunk of steel bolted to the end of the drive-shaft instead of some multi-piece monstrosity that's all packed full of springs and rubber and garbage:

Rip out the DMF and drop in ACT's single-piece XACT flywheel. No amount of software re-calibration will make as big a difference to your shift quality.

See? Look how much better that is!

Excess drivetrain movement can also add to the sensation of rev hang. Firmer transmission or even engine mounts will help with that. Swapping to ACDelco 10-4014 transmission oil would put the cherry on top by speeding up and smoothing out synchro engagement.

Good luck, happy tuning!

It hangs just as much as without the tune, I drove them side by side after I got the ECU in the mail. It hangs the exact same amount in gear and in neutral, if it was that much of an inertial problem wouldn't it be much less in neutral with 2/3 of the drivetrain disconnected?

my 2014 rev hangs. it sucks. i wonder if that little throttle box would help. the sprint throttle booster.

if the ecu is controlling an idle air control valve as well as the throttle plate, it could make a solution complicated.

I thought it was computer controlled to lessen blow-by emissions? If the TB closes too fast the pressure in the engine raises and you get more blow-by since more oil vaporizes. This has been a standard on most new cars for emissions reasons, and even more prevalent on forced induction cars.

yes exactly. however even with a tune that is supposed to eliminate rev hang, it still rev hangs and i really want to get to the bottom of it already because it 100% ruins the driving experience. as ncgiant said he has a single mass flywheel and the same tune as me and still gets rev hang.

Search Sprint booster v3 for genesis coupe on Google. Mine was $289. One bolt to remove accelerator pedal for the mod averse (like myself). I have only this and a CAI. Works for me. No plans for any other mods.

This rev hang issue. Is it a hit and miss problem with the genesis coupe? My 2010 3.8 has never had this problem.
