Traction Control off FOR GOOD?

I've looked at other threads regarding the traction control, but cannot seem to find an answer to this.

My question is if there is a way to turn the TC off and keep it off. It turns back on whenever the car turns on. Any way around this?

I believe anything that permanently disables your traction control will also disable your ABS.

this

there's a module that basically "presses" the button when the car starts.

and IIRC there is a way to disable it.....

I think you put the car in acc mode ( not starting the engine) and holding the tcs button for like 30 sec. then start the car.

I personally haven't tried this, because I never get the OEM flash to update the ecu. So IDK.

You can get a module that will put the ESC in the mode it was in when the car was last shut off.

I've been driving for over 40 years. This is the first car I've had with the Electronic Stability Control. Some how I've managed to drive without it. The only reason I drive with it now is I'm too lazy to think about turning it off every time.

You know, I keep seeing this "too much trouble pushing the button" problem. If your driving on the street makes me wonder if your too lazy to use your turn signal or turn on your headlights or not bother to look before changing lanes.
Yea sometimes the TC bugs me too but I'm getting used to it. I've been driving over 50 years and learned a long time ago things can and do improve. I'll push the button off sometimes when appropriate.
At least it's not like the airbags going off in the camaro when you do a little drifting. See autoblog.
I'd go on but you either get it or you don't.

Experienced drivers don't need ESC because they know what it takes to need it and avoid that situation.

I'm posting this since I've been looking all over the internet for a solution. I've found it so I'm sharing it.
First, I have a Genesis 2016 coupe 3.8 gt. Second, I do not know if it works for other years, models, flavours...
There are 2 "stages" of control on my car. There's stability control and there's traction control.

Here it is: on the lower left of the steering wheel, there's the button. Press it and you will disable the stability control. Press it again and you will enable it. Press and hold for 3-4 seconds and you will disable both - the stability and traction control. You get a confirmation every time in the display hud.

Have fun.

Just a slight clarification.... A single press turns off TCS, press and hold disables ESC. However, without a tune, it's always on to a degree...

lol

Makes me feel like I'm a crazy person... For years, I've driven cars that did not have any driving aid at all. I know the feel... However if there's some sort of "control" still on, it's not enough to prevent full 360 burns on dry tarmac over and over again. I'll take a few pictures to show you. Hell, I'll shoot a video. I'm sure it's gonna help the ones who have my year and model. Cheers!

LOL, congratulations, we're all very proud of you! Now go do some research... There's more to the system than just that.

Oh btw, I have your year and model... And your search skills need work since this revelation of yours is in the owner's manual... Oh, and the 6 yr old thread you revived predates the BK2... Smdh...

No need to come off condescending. Just point them in the direction of "some research" material and move on.

For anyone else interested in abs/esc removal, removing the abs block will drop the vss over canbus so be prepared to have an alternative gauge or dash available for speed. Racecapture is a great inexpensive alternative for gps speed/data logging.
