So im starting this thread or if this type of thread has been made im starting a new one. Post something you did to your gen coupe today with atleast one picture so people can see what all your hard work has led to. If you got no pictures then go take one with your cellphone

Today I finished putting in new Eibach Sportlines and some 20mm spacers all around. Much different than stock and the 20mm spacers were a perfect fit

Got around to installing OEM BK2 tails and my, oh my, are they gorgeous! Experiencing hyperblink so I ordered a resistor (thank goodness for Amazon prime). I'm surprised at how much easier the resistor and lights were to install than it was on my bike!

Did a bunch of work on the srt getting it ready for the water/meth kit install on monday. Not much to do on the GC. I finally waxed the parts that I painted. What a PITA! All the little nooks and crannies such a pain. Don't get me started on the vent mesh! Finally got all that cleared off, so hopefully it provides decent protection. Other than that, I put the car on ramps. Just waiting for that f-ing mail man to being me my test pipes, then it's oil change and install.

When I was 21 or 22, I thought about getting the SRT4. But I didn't have a lot of money and I was really worried about sports car status on my insurance ;)

OK. After waiting a while for all the parts to come in, I finally made some minor changes. For starters, I just turned over 97K miles on my 2011 GT 3.8. She has been a sweetheart beast in pure stock mode for all these years ;) I also just made the last payment last month, and I have a minty new title in my hot little hands :) I started the day by just putting in new plugs. I went with the Denso Iridium Power plugs with the micro spark tips (.04 I think). Gapped at .35 from the factory. As everyone has pointed out, the driver side plugs are no problem. The shotgun side is another story. I figured if I was going to have to remove the intake manifold to replace them, I might as well add a phenolic spacer. I went slow, as I've never tackled a job like this before. Once all the hoses, wire nests, sensor clips, etc... were removed, I was able to completely remove the manifold. The phenolic spacer dropped right in on top of the existing gasket, and I added another gasket on top. I will say, if you are replacing plugs for the first time around 100K, the good 'ol breaker-bar makes the job a snap ;) About a month ago, I took advantage of a free "major systems" check from the dealer. Of course, they said she was in great shape for her age/mileage, but needed some things done. A $1300 estimate from the dealer turned into about $100 worth of parts and my sweat equity ;) I replaced the purge valve, and the pcv valve sine I hade everything apart. Bolted everything back together, and connected all the tubes and electronics and was ready for round two. I then installed an R2C cold air intake, and then finally plugged in a backup ECU that I had reflashed by SFR. Only had to make one trip to Auto Zone for a 10" 3/8 socket extension to reach the bottom bolt on the ECU bracket. Other than that, I had all the tools I needed. Crossed my fingers and hit the push-button start, and she fired right up. Let her idle for a bit to check all the connections and make sure I didn't get any error codes. All was good! Then took her out for a run through town, and out on the highway. A very fun drive :) I will wait a bit before probably adding a Borla cat-back exhaust, and that will do it for me. All in all, a very productive day!

Well, I finally installed a MagnaFlow CB exhaust to finish out my planned upgrades. Took it over to the local HS and had some of my sons friends help me put it on (they have a lift, plenty of tools, and young muscle;) Took about an hour to do the job, everything went on easy, and the polished quad-tips lined up perfectly. No adjustments needed. Disconnected the negative battery terminal before the install, so the ECU would recognize the new exhaust system, and hopefully not throw any codes. Started her up, and she sounded amazing :) Not too loud, just throaty enough to make her even more sexy, and no codes thrown! With all of the mods taken into account, I'm pretty sure she should be running about 350HP now at about 4500-5000 RPM. No Dyno, just a little simple math, and a good feel from the 'ol "butt dyno" ;) I will be making the 5 hour drive out to Alpine, TX next week, and will get so see if there is any MPG gain from the new exhaust. I could not be more pleased with my '11 GT at this point. Just passed 99K miles, and she looks, and drives fantastic!

I just got stage 1 from SFR. I'm on vacation though, so I can't install until Wednesday! :)

Just picked up some slotted Dba 4000 rotors and carbotech pads for a steal.

Yay part outs ;)

As you can guess, I installed the test pipes today. omfg, I'll go ahead and just pay someone a few bucks to do it next time. I'm not ashamed to say it took me 3 hours (that also includes oil change). PITA nuts wouldn't come off. I PB Blasted them, then turned the car on and let them heat up. A couple of them broke free with just that. The others I had to wail on with the impact. What ended up working was wail on them in the off direction, the hit them in the on position, then back to off position and they came off after that. Except one. So I noticed the studs were really long and there was no way I was going to wrestle those things out, so I took the x pipe off and the cats along with it. Much simpler and I was able to get the last nut off no problem.

Install wasn't too bad, but there isn't a lot of room under the car, I'm a big guy and with my ear protection on, it was super hard to move around. It was a PITA to get the x-pipe back up, it isn't heavy, but it isn't light and with limited motion, it might as well weight 200lbs. But, you just have to use a jack to help, get one bolt in somewhere, then another and eventually they'll all be in, then you can adjust it's position and align the pipes and tips. Not sure why everyone is all uppity about aligning the tips. It was stupid easy. In fact, it was the easiest part of this whole job. Just stick the jack under the tube thing (muffler??) and raise up one side until it looks like it's in a nice spot in relation to the bumper, bolt it to the x-pipe so the flanges match up, repeat for other side and done. No big deal.

I burned the crap out of my arm though. cats were warm to the touch so I could handle them no problem, but the down pipe before the cat was still super hot apparently. going to have a scar. Oh well. It'll go away after a few years :)

Impressions? Oh yes! I did a sound reading before and after. I let the car start, then after it idled down, i took a reading. With and without test pipes the app I used read 59dB. I did not get a reading in the car before test pipes, but with test pipes at 6k it hit 78dB and it was super loud, so I imagine with the cats it would be more like 68dB. Overall the sound is louder and I do not recommend them if you're sensitive to sound or worried your exhaust will be too loud, because it will be. Maybe with a magnaflow setup with a big muffler it might be better. I'm not complaining, I love it! At low rpms you don't even notice. It sounds just like it did before which is nice. Up to around 3500rpm with light throttle and it's fine, but give it any more throttle and it gets loud. I sounds as if someone took the GRiP, turned it up 2 notches and added a ton of bass. I was on the fwy for a bit and no drone. It's not too raspy either, but ymmv.

Car feels more responsive mid range and revs a crap ton quicker. I don't want to sound like a sissy, but I'm a little afraid of the car now. I did my normal round trip around the lake and mountains and the car is different. I'm going to have to relearn the power band. The TC light kept flashing while doing things I have done at the same speed/conditions many times and it was getting squirrely.

I need to get more miles on the car before I can register a complete opinion, but for now the sound is pleasing and draws attention, the car performs better and it wasn't an expensive upgrade.

A note about the quality though: I was disappointed at what I got in the box. They looked nice enough for what they are, but one pipe had a scratch/dent that you could see from the inside of the pipe and the other pipe had 3. Not sure if it was from tooling or what not, but damn. They were not as shiny/polished as I though they'd be either. I'm concerned about longevity. I have a feeling these things will rust out in a few years if not sooner. The welds looked great though and the gaskets and bolts were fine and fit well.

if you're referring to the test pipes, they are depot racing.

I got rear ended by a good friend of mine. He thought I was turning right and I wasn't. Was probably going 10 when he hit me, and I was totally stopped. This accident curse is real

Is said good friend going to remain a good friend by getting it fixed?

That right turn is a bitch. That's why I triple look to make sure the car actually went.

Those Db readings seem low, what did u use to measure? And I am jealous of your car btw ;)

Installed a mishimoto catch can on the intake side to match my mishimoto on the PCV side. With the SFR Stage 1 tune, there's more blow by on the intake side. PCV side, no change- still nothing. Also, washed her. She'll be covered with pollen tomorrow though GRRRRR....

Debadged the trunk. Recently traded my BK1 for a 2016 3.8 Rspec M/T. Leaving the H on this time around. All my other mods will be put back on soon. Gonna miss my other Gen, loved her!

All I know is Darth Vader is Black (and so is his voice) and he is my freaking hero, so for me, everything black - everything including all my future cars. KIT, from knight rider was black (not his voice) and everyone knows how bad a$$ KIT was, well atleast if you grew up in the 80's watching Dukes of Hazard, CHiPs , HE-Man and Knight Rider like me :)

Because that would look insanely out of place on my car, and because there isn't any aftermarket bumper that's even close to comparable in price to a stock bumper:frown:

So I gained 1mpg after test pipes install. +1mpg is pretty damn good considering I've been super heavy on the pedal to hear the noise.

I saw that you said previously that the Test Pipes seem to have added a vast improvement to the car. I didn't notice that huge of a difference on my BK1 with my Ark Downpipe and H pipe. I'm wondering if it's just the straight test pipes that see this kind of improvement. I will be putting all of my Ark exhaust mods back on my 2016 BK2 soon. I have the Ark Down pipes, H-pipes and full grip exhaust to put back on.... (just can't remember if I need a bolt hardware kit for the downpipes + Test pipes)

Took the ol' Silver Bullet to the dealer today for some more interior trim replacement, covered under warranty of course. Now all my "brushed aluminum" trim pieces are brand-new and not chipping. They even replaced the steering wheel trim piece, cruise and volume control units which was nice since those black pieces were a bit scratched and my accel switch was getting loose from 3+ years of use. Now my GC looks brand-new inside like it did when I bought it.
