No worries, as VIRPhan said, just PM someone who is looking for a roomie and pay that person directly. That way they can book it and you got a place to crash.

That being said, to our underage brethren, we usually do have a cabin where the Alcohol goes. Because the resort can be patrolled and or we can get kicked out for illegal activity, those that are underage won't be allowed to drink.

i appreciate the info, all good though on the alcohol, i am not a normal 16 year old as i do not drink, aside from maybe a few sips of the odd drink with my parents consent at home.

Good to hear. I just felt it needed said as the event is growing with each trip and inevitably we are going to run into a knuckle head or two.

I will be setting up a caravan from the MD/NOVA area..so whoever sets up the NY one if you wanna plan a meetup with me for that and join us on the way down. I will be driving down on the 4th and arriving the evening of the 4th.

I can rent the 3 bedroom cabin if a bunch of people wanna crash in there or w/e doesn't matter to me...otherwise i'll get myself a loge.

Do we have any official stance on if we have, say, a friend in a GTO who'd like to come?

For those that are interested in putting together caravans, please be sure to start threads in your regional section, linking this thread. We need everyone's help to make this the biggest meet yet. I know that there are some that have Facebook groups as well. Please also use this tool to get the word out.

Thanks!

subscribed to see about this with the lady - I just saw about this road on TV on a show called Most Dangerous Roads in the wold and holy hell was I sold on having to do this....

11 miles 300 plus turns - think somewhere around 500 deaths in last 15 years just something I have to experience.... (Bless those souls who unforutunately past away trying to fulfill the need for speed)

Cool, I'll see if I can drum up some interest.

As for deaths, that number is more like 30 over the past 15 years on the Dragon itself, and they were all motorcycle accidents. Blount County in North Carolina, where the Dragon starts and is also home to the Cherohala Skyway, usually has more, where it's possible to pick up more speed and there are more sightseers who may be performing well-intentioned but poorly executed maneuvers on the road (yep, there's a story there ). I've never heard of anyone in a car dying on the Dragon. That said, accidents still happen, so take it easy on the first few runs, watch what the guy in front of you is doing, and don't cross the double-yellow. Do that and you'll be fine.

This is more like it.

I've been on the Dragon when a few folks kicked it. Never a good time. Most important rule of the Dragon... stay in your lane.

My friend with a Veloster plans on coming.

Yeah, some of the bikes up there get a little crazy.
