The black in the front is still nasty looking. Makes it look like a dog with a HUGE nose.

If that was real it would be nice not a huge fan on the front still but its amazing what lowering a car does for the looks.

Not bad. Getting rid of those faux hood vents make a world of difference suprisingly.

what i really can't wait for is the porting of the manifold... since the manifold support EWG and twin scroll and it should be bolt on to your cars since the motor is the same just the turbo is different it will be a nice way to get twin scroll power at an affordable price..

I agree, I said it before, toss on a Veloster or GC Concept Hood would make a big difference in the look of that front end. I would see me spending money on the hood they put on the 2013 modded concept.

Not sure just a bolt on would work... I don't think they're the same. I read somewhere a Hyundai engineer stated the 10-12 2.0 would not be able to handle the new turbo over time.

well then I'll just stick to my 19t and spank new 2013's.... ugly front.. people loved the GC cuz it doesn't look like a "hyundai plastic car".. it gave hyundai a new face and they just completely took it away to reduce production costs... example its cheaper to make 1 from diffuser that used on 4 or 5 different cars rather then just 1 like it is now.. also its cheaper to make 1 turbo manifold and turbo like they do on the sonata and 2013...

I really do prefer that hood. I still wish the bumper was different. Its like the BRZ vs FRS styling, the one without the black bumper looks so much better when you have an apples to apples comparison.

Looks good. +1 on the hood. I'm sure we'll have plenty of aftermarket options to remove the ugly.

Did anyone notice in the article it says the car runs the 5.0 Tau V8??? Does this mean the V8 fits in the 2013?

I am sure they did a lot of modifications to make the V-8 fit, but it does sound like some future iteration could include a V-8. That would put the Gen into Porsche territory and also make it competitive with the American V-8 offerings. There would have to be a suitable market demand for this, however. With $5.00 / gallon gas coming don't hold your breath.

I am curious to see how the 8 speed auto compares in terms of both performance and mileage to the stick. Personally, I think they should fix the manual or go to a DCT setup like the Veloster. My colleague at work does not like the stick in his Porsche. He is going for a DCT next time. I do not get it. In line manual transmissions were perfected years ago it would seem and we are just going backward with them. I guess making them "light and cheap" has its consequences...even for $100k cars.

Well everything I've read says that the '13 is gonna have a revised transmission, and you bring up a good point of about the DCT. I wonder why they put in the Veloster but not the Gen Coupe.

Its not that they are getting worse, its the fact that DCTs and Porche's in particular are spectacular. If your friend has tried out a VAG DCT its no wonder he wants it instead of the manual.
